Abstract
PURPOSE: To allow an unskilled person to make high-precision setting by removably setting a position adjusting adapter to a standard reflecting mirror device, position-adjusting the luminescence point of a discharge lamp to the adapter, then fixing a discharge tube to the adapter. CONSTITUTION: A position adjusting adapter 10 is fixed to the housing 9 of a standard reflecting mirror device 22 by screws 16a-16c. A luminescence- unadjusted discharge lamp 2 is fitted to an X, Y, Z-stage 23 and is moved and freely inserted into the through-hole 14 of a support tube section 13 provided on the adapter 10. The discharge lamp 2 is lighted and adjusted in X-, Y- and Z-axis directions to determine the maximum output position, then the base 3a of the discharge lamp 2 is temporarily fixed by temporary set screws 15a-15c after the determination. The discharge lamp 2 is turned off after temporary fixing, the discharge lamp 2 with the adapter 10 is removed from the device 22, and a heat-resistant inorganic adhesive is filled into the gap between the through-hole 14 and the base 3a and hardened and completely fixed. Even an unskilled person can make setting precisely without adjusting the position of a luminescence point by a complex device.
