Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize an optical disk head with high performance by using both of two light beams radiated from a semiconductor laser for read/erasure/write of information on the optical disk face so as to improve the information processing capability. CONSTITUTION:The semiconductor laser 1 is arranged so that the rotary center axis of the optical disk 12 is located on two laser beam axes, the two beams radiated from both end faces of the semiconductor laser 1 are collimated by a collimate lens 2 and radiated onto the optical disk face 12 via a half mirror 9 and a condenser lens 11 through a convex lens 8 and the light having information is detected by a 4-split photodetector 10.
