この発明は、和室用天井材等の木質建材の製造方法に関

したが、紅檜材は木目部の輝りが不足し、かつ木目立ち
や色調もわるく、汚れやすいという欠点があり、そのま
までは天井材等に使用することができなかった。そこで
、本発明者は紅檜材の表面を硬化速度の速い塗料で塗装
することにより、塗料が紅檜材の内部に吸いこまれる前
に塗料が紅檜材の表面で硬化するため、木目部に輝りを
付与し、かつ木目を目立たせることができ、しかも任意
な色調のものを得ることができるとともに、耐汚染性に
もすぐれたものになり、装飾性の高い天井材等の木質建
材として好適に使用できるようになるという新たな事実

を並設した紫外線硬化袋W5を通過させて紫外線硬化型

木目部と春材部の両方に輝りが発生するようになる。す
なわち、木目部に輝りが発生するのは、木目部と春材部
との塗料の吸い込み差によるものであり、密度の高い木
目部(夏材部)は密度の低い春材部に比して塗料の吸い
込み速度が低いことを利用したものである。ただし、木
目部に塗布した塗料のみを内部に吸いこまれる前に硬化
させるためには、ある程度塗料の粘度が低くかつ硬化の
速いものを使用するのが好ましく、好適に使用できる紫
外線硬化型塗料としては、10秒以内に硬化を完了する
