The present invention relates to a feed efficiency improving agent for pigs containing lysoserine or a salt or ester thereof as an active ingredient. BACKGROUND ART Adding antibiotics to feed to promote growth and improve egg production rates of poultry or livestock is already widely practiced. However, when humans use these animals for food, they also ingest the antibiotics that remain and accumulate in the animal's body, which can lead to the emergence of resistant bacteria and other undesirable effects. There is a risk of receiving The present inventors searched for a feed efficiency improving agent without such drawbacks and found that lysoserine can significantly improve feed efficiency for pigs. Lysoserine is produced by Streptomyces cacaoii (Waxman), Waxman and Henritsu, Val Assoensis, Isono Nagatsu and Suzuki k-9Met - bacteria (Feikoken Bacteria No. 1148)
It is an antibiotic discovered from a culture of ., and its manufacturing method, structural formula, and physical properties are described in Japanese Patent Publication No. 12555/1983 and other publications. Lysoserine belongs to polyether antibiotics and has excellent antibacterial properties, but according to research by the present inventors, it has been found that it does not have the above-mentioned drawbacks. The feed efficiency improving agent of the present invention may be given to animals in the form of powder, tablet, capsule, or other appropriate form, and may be administered by mixing it with drinking water or feed. This agent can also be used in combination with, for example, commercially available growth-promoting substances, antibiotics, and the like. Preferred salts of lysoserine include sodium salts and calcium salts, and preferred esters include alkyl esters and benzyl esters having 1 to 8 carbon atoms. The concentration of this agent varies depending on the type and age of the pig, but it is usually 0.5 to 300 ppm, preferably 1.
Use feed containing ~200 ppm of active ingredients. Lysoserine, the active ingredient of the present invention, not only has a growth-promoting effect, but is also excellent in improving feed efficiency, and is also characterized by low intestinal absorption, so there is little risk of accumulation or residue in the animal body. have The feed efficiency improving agent of the present invention has remarkable effects when administered to pigs, especially piglets. In general, pigs, and piglets in particular, are prone to diarrhea, and it is said that 60 to 70% of piglets develop diarrhea from the lactation period to around the time of weaning. When Lysoserine is administered to pigs,
As shown in the test examples, diarrhea is prevented and feed utilization efficiency is improved as a result. Next, the present invention will be explained in detail with reference to Examples and Test Examples. Example 1 Lysoserine 1% Corn starch 99% Both substances are ground and mixed uniformly to form a premix containing 1% Lysoserine. Example 2 Lysoserine 0.1% Bran 99.9% Both substances were crushed and mixed uniformly, and Lysoserine
Premix containing 0.1%. Test example: 35-day-old Landrace Hampshire pigs.
Using 15 animals (5 animals per group), the growth promoting effect of lysoserine, the effect of improving feed utilization efficiency, and the condition of feces were investigated. Lysoserine was added to the basal feed shown in Table 1 and fed for 28 days. The second result is
Shown in the table.
