Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain data communication to plural hosts belonging to different network systems by giving a protocol selection function to a nonpacket-shape terminal and providing a control information processing means or the like to a packet assembling/disassembling device. CONSTITUTION:When data communication is executed form the nonpacket-shape terminal 2 to a host device 3a, the terminal 2 uses communication software 21a to select a protocol according to the system A of the host 3a. Then the protocol is used to give a call request to a packet assembling/disassembling device PAD 1 and the PAD 1 uses a protocol identification circuit 12 to detect/ identify the protocol based on the system A used by the terminal 12 thereby selecting a corresponding PAD circuit 10a and a control information processing circuit 11a and realizing the PAD function and control information processing functions corresponding to the protocol. Thus, the terminal 2 stored in the equipment 1 applies data communication with the host 3a via an exchange network 4. ストに対してのデータ通信を実現できるという効果があ
