In recent years, iron handle materials have been shifting from phenolic resins to thermoplastic resins such as polypropylene in order to reduce costs by eliminating secondary coating. Since these thermoplastic resins have a lower heat resistance temperature than phenolic resins and the like, they require temperature insulation such as a heat insulating plate. Conventionally, in the case of irons, lead wires, cord terminals, etc. are generally disposed of at the rear of the handle due to ease of assembly, cord attachment position, etc.; A metal plate was fixed with screws in holes formed in the left and right directions at the rear of the plate.
Therefore, there are problems such as (a) the metal plate inevitably becomes larger, (b) the metal plate requires set screws, and (c) the mold has a sliding structure to form the hole in the heat insulation plate, which increases parts cost and mold. Costs were also a factor in the increase.

本考案はこれらの問題を解決するもので、以下

The present invention solves these problems, and one embodiment of the invention will be explained below based on the attached drawings.
In FIGS. 1 to 3, reference numeral 1 denotes a base having a heater, and the upper surface of the base 1 is covered with a heat insulating plate 3 made of thermoplastic polyester resin, for example, between the base and the handle 2. At the rear of the handle 2, a hollow terminal portion 2a is closed with a lid plate 2b. 4
are a pair of grooves located in the terminal part 2a and formed on both sides of the rear part of the heat insulating plate 3, into which a metal plate 5 having saw blade-shaped engagement parts 6 at both ends is press-fitted and fixed. Chamfers 7 are provided at the corners to facilitate fitting. This chamfer 7 is the insulation board 3
It may be provided on the groove side. Since the interval between the engaging parts 6 of the metal plate 5 is larger than the interval between the bottom surfaces of the groove 4, when the metal plate 5 is press-fitted, the engaging parts 6 bite into the resin of the heat insulating plate 3, exhibiting a wedge effect. . Therefore,
When the terminals of the lead wires 9 and the cords 10 are screwed into the screw holes 8 formed in the metal plate 5, the metal plate 5 does not easily fall off due to external forces such as drop impact. The metal plate 5 and the groove 4 are provided as a set on the heat insulating plate 3, and the lead wire 9 and the cord 10 are connected to each other.
are each connected separately. FIG. 4 shows another embodiment, and since the shape of the engaging portion 6 of the metal plate 5 is symmetrical both horizontally and vertically, it has the advantage that there is no directional press-fitting. Note that since the groove 4 is formed by the upper and lower structure of the mold, no sliding is required and the cost of the mold does not increase. Reference numeral 9 denotes a rib for preventing deformation of the metal plate 5, and allows use with a relatively thin plate.

As described above, the present invention eliminates the need for screws for fixing the metal plate by press-fitting and fixing the metal plate having the engaging portion into the groove of the heat insulating plate formed of thermoplastic resin. In addition, the sliding structure of the mold for the heat insulating plate can be eliminated, and it can be formed as a vertically movable mold, so that lead wires, cord terminals, etc. can be securely fastened with screws without increasing costs, and the following effects are also achieved. In other words, by providing ribs facing the metal plate press-fitted into the groove, it is possible to support the metal plate against the pressing force that is applied when screwing the cord or lead wire, thereby preventing deformation, etc. This makes it possible to reduce the thickness of the metal plate by preventing this, and at the same time, it is possible to improve the workability when press-fitting the metal plate into the groove.
