As shown in FIG. 1, a conventional connector includes a stepped cylindrical connector body 1 made by joining two cylinders with different diameters, a nipple 2 housed in a large cylindrical portion 1a of this connector body 1, and a connector. A cap nut 3 is screwed onto a male thread on the outer circumferential surface of the large cylindrical portion 1a of the main body 1, and a waterproof cap nut 3 is attached to the inner circumferential surface of the cap nut 3 and presses the nipple 2 in the axial direction as the cap nut 3 is tightened. It is composed of Patsukin 4.

Next, a method for connecting a PVC-coated flexible conduit to this connector will be explained based on FIG. 2. First, the PVC coating on the end of the PVC-coated flexible electric conduit 5 is peeled off by a length approximately equal to the length of the nipple 2, and the cap nut 3 and the waterproof packing 4 are sequentially passed through the end. Next, screw the end of the PVC-coated flexible conduit 5 into the nipple 2, insert the nipple 2 into the large cylindrical portion 1a of the connector body 1, and tighten the cap nut 3 onto the male threaded portion of the outer circumferential surface of the large cylindrical portion 1a. Complete mechanical and electrical connections.

An embodiment of this invention is shown in FIGS. 3 and 4. That is, this connector has a stepped cylindrical shape made by joining two cylinders with different diameters, and has a large cylindrical portion 6a.
It consists of a connector body 6 whose inner circumferential surface has a tapered surface whose diameter gradually decreases as it goes deeper from the opening, and an outer tube 7c having an inner tube 7a and a plurality of inward cut and raised pieces 7b on the inner circumferential surface. A grip ring 7 having a U-shaped cross section, which is inserted into the large cylindrical portion 6a of the connector main body 6 from the opening by inserting the end of the PVC-coated flexible conduit 8 between the two cylinders 7a and 7c, and the large cylindrical portion of the connector main body 6. A cap nut 9 is provided, which is screwed into the external threaded portion of the outer circumferential surface of the grip ring 6a to push in the outer cylinder of the grip ring and reduce its diameter. In this case, the diameter of the grip ring 7 is reduced in accordance with the taper of the inner peripheral surface of the large cylindrical portion 6a by tightening the cap nut 9 and pressing the bent piece 7d.

Next, a method of connecting a PVC-coated flexible conduit to this connector will be explained based on FIG. 5. First, the PVC-coated flexible electrical conduit 8 is passed through the cap nut 9, and the grip ring 7 is spread over the end of the PVC-coated flexible electrical conduit 8 to cover it. Next, the grip ring 7 is inserted into the large cylindrical portion 6a of the connector main body 6, and the cap nut 9 is tightened to the male threaded portion of the outer circumferential surface of the large cylindrical portion 6a, so that the plurality of cut and raised claws 7b are released.
It pierces through the VPC coating 8a of the PVC flexible conduit 8 and bites into the flexible conduit main body 8b, completing the mechanical and electrical connection.

In this way, the connector of this embodiment can connect the PVC-coated flexible conduit 8 without peeling off the PVC-coated portion 9b of the PVC-coated flexible conduit 8, and does not require the work of screwing in the nipple 2 as in the conventional case. This results in improved workability and improved waterproofness. In addition, since the grip ring 7 covers the end of the PVC-coated flexible conduit 8, the wire can be protected (against cutting of the wire sheathing by the end of the PVC-coated flexible conduit 8, etc.).
Also, the waterproof function is sufficiently high even without waterproof gaskets.

As described above, in the connector of the present invention, a grip ring with a U-shaped cross section in which an inward protrusion is provided on the outer cylinder is placed over the end of a resin-coated flexible conduit, and in this state, the grip ring is inserted into the connector body through the opening. By screwing a cap nut onto the opening edge of the connector body, the grip ring is pushed into the connector body in the direction of the center axis, and the diameter of the outer cylinder of the grip ring is reduced by the taper of the inner peripheral surface of the connector body. Then, the inward protrusion of the outer cylinder pierces the coating of the resin-coated flexible conduit tube, and the inward protrusion bites into the flexible conduit body of the resin-coated flexible conduit tube to make pressure contact. Since the electrical connection between the coated flexible conduit and the conduit main body is achieved, there is no need to screw a grip ring into the resin-coated flexible conduit, resulting in good workability. In addition, by reducing the diameter of the outer cylinder of the grip ring, the inward protrusion of the outer cylinder breaks through the coating of the resin-coated flexible conduit, and the inward protrusion bites into the conduit body and presses it into contact with the conduit body. The electrical connection between the wire and the conduit body can be stabilized.

1. A cylindrical connector main body whose inner circumferential surface becomes a tapered surface whose diameter gradually decreases as it goes deeper from the opening and has a male thread on its outer circumferential surface, and an inner tube and an outer tube which has an inward protrusion on its inner circumferential surface. a grip ring with a U-shaped cross section that is inserted into the connector body through the opening with the end of the resin-coated flexible conduit inserted between the two cylinders; By screwing the grip ring from the opening side and pushing the outer cylinder in the direction of the central axis to reduce the diameter, the inward protrusion is caused to overlap the covering portion of the resin-coated flexible conduit tube, thereby forming a flexible electric wire. A connector comprising a cap nut in which the inward protrusion bites into a tube body.
