Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce noise as well as to remove the resonance phenomenon generating on the side plate of a tank by a method wherein a tilt angle is given to the side plate against the side wall of the internal surface of a tank opposing to an iron core, or a sound-insulating plate or a sound-absorbing plate having curvature is provided. CONSTITUTION:The height of the upper sound-insulating plate 10A is almost same as the height of the upper exposed part of an iron core 1, the lower sound- insulating plate 10B is provided at the position of the lower part of the iron core 1 opposing to the upper sound-insulating plate, and a tilt angle theta is given to said sound-insulating plate against the side plate of a tank 4. The upper sound-insulating plate 10A reflects the vibration and noise coming from the iron core 1 as shown by the broken line, and their direct propagation to the side plate of the tank 4 is prevented. The lower sound-insulating plate 10B is arranged in such a manner that the vibration and noise coming from the iron core will not be propagated directly to the side of cooling device 7 through the lower piping 8B. As a result, the reduction in noise of the entire electric machine can be achieved, and the resonant phenomenon of the tank side plate can also be eliminated.

A method of reducing noise by storing the iron core and heating element windings that generate vibration and noise in a tank, placing a cooler on the side of the tank, and connecting the tank and cooler to circulate the cooling medium. As such, various structures have been proposed in which a soundproof wall is provided around the outer circumference of the tank. (Jitsukai 50-10491
No. 6, Utility Model Application Publication No. 112917/1983).

j In the above-mentioned conventional technology, even if the tank is surrounded by a soundproof wall, noise propagates from the piping connection with the radiator to the radiator side, so additional noise countermeasures may be required. Therefore, it became necessary to reduce noise by adding a soundproof wall to the radiator, and to improve the soundproofing effect, the structure became complicated and the installation space for electrical equipment became large. The purpose of this is to increase the cooling effect without adversely affecting the circulation of the cooling medium, and to reduce vibrations from the iron core.

騒音が外部へ伝播するのを低減させることにある。The purpose is to reduce the propagation of noise to the outside.

The above object is achieved by making the side wall of the inner surface of the tank facing the iron core have an inclination angle with the tank side plate, or by providing a sound insulating plate or a sound absorbing plate with a curvature.
