The present invention relates to an automatic transposition device for an electronic musical instrument that controls the pitch of musical tones produced by the electronic musical instrument. Traditionally, when singing while playing the keyboard of an electronic instrument,
Since the vocal range differs depending on the singer, the pitch of the musical tones produced by the above-mentioned performance cannot necessarily be said to suit the singer. Therefore, all you have to do is transpose the music you are playing to match the vocal range of the singer, but since keyboard performance is based on sheet music, it requires advanced performance skills to read the sheet music and transpose the music. Another problem was that electronic instruments with a small number of keys could not achieve the desired range. This invention was made in view of the above circumstances.
To provide an automatic transposition device for an electronic musical instrument that can generate musical tones by automatically transposing a song played on a keyboard to a key that matches the vocal range of a singer. According to this invention, when generating musical tones based on musical tone information generated in relation to key presses on a keyboard, specific tones such as the highest note, lowest note, or starting note of a song to be played are In addition to specifying a pitch related to the vocal range of the singer, a pitch difference is detected based on a comparison of the two specified pitches, and the pitch difference is detected based on the comparison of the two specified pitches. The pitch of the musical tones that are produced is controlled. The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. The figure is a block diagram showing an embodiment of an electronic musical instrument to which the present invention is applied. The keyboard 1 generates key information (key code) KC indicating the pitch of the pressed key in response to a key pressed on the keyboard 1. This key code KC is, for example, 2, which represents an octave range, as shown in Table 1.
Bit octave codes B 2 and B 1 and 4-bit note codes representing 12 note names within one octave.
This is a 6-bit binary coded signal consisting of N 4 , N 3 , N 2 , and N 1 .

In this case, the key code KC generated from the keyboard 1 and applied to the key information correction circuit 2 is not corrected here and is directly guided to the tone forming circuit 3 as the key code KC'. The musical tone forming circuit 3 forms a musical tone signal based on the input key code KC', and applies this signal to the speaker 5 via the amplifier 4. As a result, in the speaker 5, the sound corresponding to the key pressed on the keyboard 1 is produced as is. Next, a case (transposition mode) in which a musical piece produced by keyboard performance is automatically transposed to match the vocal range of the singer will be described. In this case, the musical score highest note memory control switch 6 is turned on. As a result, a signal “1” is sent to the load terminal LD of the highest note memory 7 of the musical score.
is added, and the musical score highest note memory 7 becomes readable. Here, when the highest note in the musical score is searched for while looking at the musical score and the key corresponding to the highest note is pressed on the keyboard 1, the key code KC indicating the highest note is stored in the musical score highest note memory 7. The musical score highest note memory 7 applies the stored key code KC to the pitch difference detection circuit 8. On the other hand, when specifying the key code KC corresponding to the highest note that the singer can utter, the highest note memory control switch 9 is turned on. As a result, a signal “1” is sent to the load terminal LD of the highest pitch memory 10.
is added, and the highest note memory 10 becomes readable. Next, use keyboard 1 to enter the key code KC.
When specifying the key/audio changeover switch 11
The movable contact piece 11a is connected to the contact point 11b. As a result, the signal "1" is applied to the A input select terminal SA of the selector 12, so the selector 12 selects the A input. Here, when the singer presses a key corresponding to the highest note that can be uttered on the keyboard 1, a key code KC indicating the highest note is outputted to the highest note memory 10 via the A input of the selector 12. Similarly, when specifying the key code KC using the microphone 13, the movable contact piece 11a of the key/voice changeover switch 11 is connected to the contact point 11c. As a result, the signal "1" is applied to the B input select terminal SB of the selector 12, so the selector 12 selects the B input. Here, when the singer utters the highest note possible into the microphone 13, the voice is converted into an electrical signal by the microphone 13 and is applied to the fundamental wave detection circuit 14. The fundamental wave detection circuit 14 extracts the fundamental wave from the electrical signal and outputs it to the key information conversion circuit 15. The key information conversion circuit 15 generates a key code indicating the pitch based on the frequency of the input fundamental wave.
KC (see Table 1), and outputs the key code KC to the highest pitch memory 10 via the B input of the selector 12. Since the highest note memory 10 is in a readable state, it stores the key code KC output from the selector 12 and outputs it to the pitch difference detection circuit 8. The pitch difference detection circuit 8 detects the key code corresponding to the highest note in the performance piece outputted from the musical tone highest note memory 7.
KC and the key code KC corresponding to the highest note that the singer can utter, which is output from the highest note memory 10.
By comparing the two, the pitch difference between the highest notes is detected, and difference information corresponding to the pitch difference is added to the key information correction circuit 2. When you play the keyboard in the above transposing mode, the keyboard 1
The key code KC generated from the key information correction circuit 2 is corrected here based on the difference information output from the pitch difference detection circuit 8, and the key code KC is
It is added to the tone forming circuit 3 as KC'. Therefore, the musical tone emitted from the speaker 5 is sounded lower (or higher) than the pitch indicated on the musical score by the pitch difference detected by the pitch difference detection circuit 8. As a result, when a song is played on the keyboard according to the musical score, the key is transposed to match the vocal range of the singer, that is, the key is transposed by the pitch difference and the sound is produced. In the above embodiment, the pitch is controlled by modifying the key code KC, but the present invention is not limited to this, and the frequency of the sound source signal output from the sound source circuit (not shown) of the musical tone forming circuit may be controlled. The pitch may also be controlled by this. Furthermore, the key code KC from the musical score highest note memory that is output to the pitch difference detection circuit is not limited to the key code KC corresponding to the highest note in the performance piece, but also, for example, the key code KC corresponding to the lowest note in the performance piece. It may be KC or a key code KC corresponding to the note at the beginning of singing.
However, in this case, it goes without saying that the pitch specified via the keyboard or microphone must also be the lowest pitch that the singer can produce and the pitch at which the singer begins singing. As explained above, according to the present invention, musical tones can be generated by automatically transposing a song played on the keyboard to a key that matches the vocal range of the singer. This facilitates keyboard performance since there is no need to transpose the music when playing the keyboard, and also eliminates the inconvenience of not being able to get the right range due to transposition even in electronic musical instruments with a small number of keys.
