A representative example of this type of discharge lamp is a single-end type fluorescent lamp having an inner tube for regulating a discharge path, as shown in FIG. That is, in the figure, 1 is a glass tube with a light diffusing layer 2 formed on the inner surface and an open end 11, and 3 is a glass tube 1 with a frit 4 attached to the end 11 of the glass tube 1 so as to close the opening of the end 11. A stem made of a metal plate, such as a chromium-iron alloy, having an expansion coefficient close to that of the glass tube 1, 5 is two electrodes sealed to this stem 3, and 6 is this electrode. 5, one end thereof is fixed to the stem 3 in an airtight manner, the other end is open, and a phosphor layer 66 is formed on the inner surface, and this inner cylinder 6 is formed between the electrodes 5. The discharge is regulated in a U-shape via the open end of the inner cylinder 6. Reference numeral 7 denotes a case body fixed to the end portion 11 of the glass tube 1, which houses electrical parts such as a ballast and a starter (none of which are shown), and has an electrical connection to the electrical parts at the tip. It has a base 8 which is connected to the lamp and can be directly screwed into an incandescent lamp socket.

However, in the fluorescent lamp constructed as described above, as shown in FIG.
A frit 4 is applied in advance to the area where the end surface 12 of the glass tube 1 contacts, and the glass tube 1 is placed on the frit 4.
The end surfaces 12 are brought into contact with each other, heated, and fixed. In other words, by the frit 4 interposed between the end surface 12 of the glass tube 1 and the surface of the stem 3, both the glass tube 1 and the stem 3 are physically fixed, and the airtightness inside the glass tube 1 is maintained. . Therefore, since the glass tube 1 of a fluorescent lamp or the like is usually formed with a thin wall thickness of 1 mm or less, if the end surface 12 of the glass tube 1 is not finished with a good smooth surface, the frit 4 may There was a problem that the frit 4 was not evenly interposed between the frit 3 and the stem 3, the adhesion strength was weakened, and when thermal stress etc. were applied, the frit 4 would peel off, making it impossible to maintain airtightness reliably.

This invention was made in view of the above drawbacks.
In a case where the periphery of a metal plate stem and a glass tube are airtightly fixed, a hook-shaped glass tube holder is provided on the periphery of the stem, and the distance from the glass tube end face is greater to the stem base than to the frit surface. To provide a discharge lamp which can improve the adhesion strength between a glass tube and a stem, suppress peeling of a frit, and reliably maintain airtightness over a long period of time.

以下この発明を第3図に基づき説明する。 This invention will be explained below based on FIG.

FIG. 3 is a sectional view of essential parts of the discharge lamp of the present invention. In the figure, 9 is the glass tube holder, and chrome 11
~14%, the stem 3 is made of a metal plate with the remainder made of iron, and the stem 3 is bent at a right angle from the peripheral edge to correspond to the inner diameter of the glass tube 1, and has a hook shape with a U-shaped bent part 91 at the tip. It is showing. In other words, from the height of one side 92 where the tip of this glass tube holder 9 is the free end,
The other side portion 93 connected to the stem base surface 31 is formed to have a large height. The frit 4 is filled around the glass tube end portion 11 fitted into the bent portion 91 of the glass tube receiving portion 9.

With this configuration, the frit 4 can be interposed not only on the end surface 12 of the glass tube but also on both side surfaces of the glass tube 1. In other words, the contact area between the glass tube 1 and the frit 4 can be increased, and the stem 3, the glass tube 1, and the frit can be protected against stress caused by temperature changes in the lamp manufacturing process after the glass tube 1 is sealed. 4 are deformed integrally, no local force is applied to the glass tube 1 and the stem 3, and furthermore, the portion of the stem base surface 31 connected to the side portion 93 of the glass tube receiving portion 9 tends to deform. Since the force is absorbed and buffered, peeling of the frit 4 is suppressed. Therefore, the airtightness of the sealed portion will not be impaired. However, the distance (h) from the glass tube end surface 12 to the top surface of the frit 4 and the stem base surface 31
When the distance (H) between the two ends is h≧H, the force that tends to deform the stem 3 is applied directly to the glass tube 1 via the frit 4, which sometimes causes the glass tube 1 to break.

The shape of the bent portion 91 of the glass tube holder 9 is as follows:
It is not limited to a U-shape as in the above embodiment, but a V-shape or a ring-shape can also be used to achieve the same effect.

Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the glass tube 1
Although we have described a single-end type fluorescent lamp having an inner cylinder 6 for regulating the discharge path, it is also possible to use a double-end type fluorescent lamp with a discharge path regulator other than the inner cylinder 6, or a fluorescent lamp with a double-end type. There is nothing in the way of applying the present invention to discharge lamps other than light lamps.

As explained above, the present invention has a stem made of a metal plate and a glass tube that are airtightly fixed to each other by a frit. Since the distance from the frit surface to the stem base surface is longer than that, the adhesion strength between the glass tube and the stem is improved, and separation of the frit can be suppressed. Therefore, it is possible to reliably maintain airtightness within the glass tube for a long time.
