The present invention relates to improvements in platinum alloys used as materials for rings, necklaces, brooches, tie pins, cufflinks, watch frames, watch bands, lighters, writing utensils, eyeglass frames, earrings, and the like. Traditionally, platinum 84~ was used as a decorative material as mentioned above.
Platinum alloys consisting of 96% by weight (hereinafter abbreviated as "W/O") are common, and platinum-palladium (5 to 15 W/O) alloys are particularly frequently used. This alloy has excellent workability and castability, but
Due to low mechanical strength, especially hardness, scratches and scratches occur during polishing.
It is easy to get scratched and hard to get shiny, and it is also easy to get scratched when used as a finished product, and in the case of rings with jewels, the part that holds the jewels loosens and the jewels can fall off. Ta. The present invention has been made in order to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks, and aims to provide a platinum alloy for ornaments that has excellent mechanical strength and workability by improving conventional platinum alloys. The platinum alloy for ornaments according to the present invention is platinum 84~
96 W/O, indium 2 to 10 W/O, balance palladium, with age hardening properties. In the platinum alloy for ornaments according to the present invention, the platinum component range is 84 to 96 W/O.
Below 96 W/O, the quality of platinum is too low to have any economic value as a decorative item, and above 96 W/O, the finished product will be easily scratched. The reason for adding indium is that This is because the material exhibits remarkable age hardening properties when it is aged at an appropriate temperature after being subjected to solution treatment in which it is heated to a solid solution region and rapidly cooled. If the amount added is less than 2W/O, there is almost no improvement in hardness, and if it exceeds 10W/O, Pt and In
This is because the amount of intermetallic compounds increases, resulting in poor workability. Moreover, the reason why palladium was added is to prevent a decrease in corrosion resistance due to the addition of indium. Examples, comparative examples, and conventional examples will be described below in order to clarify the effects of the platinum alloy for ornaments according to the present invention. Platinum alloys for ornaments of Examples No. 1 to No. 3 with the component compositions shown in Table 1, Comparative Example No. 4, and Conventional Examples No. 5 and No. 6
The hardness after solution treatment, the hardness after aging, and the sweat resistance of platinum alloys for ornaments were measured, and the results shown in Table 2 were obtained.

[Table] The artificial sweat test uses NH 4 Cl 15.5g/, NaCl

Judgment was made after immersion for 240 hours at a liquid temperature of 40°C with a liquid composition of 15g/pH4.7. In addition, for Example No. 2 in Table 1, after solution treatment at 1200℃, aging treatment was performed at a temperature of 600℃, and the relationship between hardness and time was measured. The results showed a significant increase in hardness. As is clear from the above, the platinum alloy for ornaments according to the present invention has significantly better hardness after aging treatment than conventional platinum alloys for ornaments, and is also superior in sweat resistance. As detailed above, the platinum alloy for ornaments of the present invention has extremely excellent workability, mechanical strength, and sweat resistance, so it is an epoch-making material that can replace conventional platinum alloys for ornaments. It can be said that it is a thing.
