A method of treating patients suffering from nasal allergies, asthma, lichen planus, etc. by administering a powdered drug into the nose or oral cavity has been adopted. As a dispensing device for powdered drugs used in such treatment methods,
A capsule filled with a powdered drug is used, and has an element for perforating the capsule at two or more points, and an element for sending an air flow into the perforated capsule to suspend the powdered drug in the air. The equipment is known. As one such drug dispensing device, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 46-4094 discloses an element for pressing air, which is a means for introducing an air flow into a capsule for inhalation by a patient, and a device that leaves a capsule behind. A device consisting of a housing for introducing a powdered drug therein into the nasal or oral cavity of a patient, in which a needle, which is the means for piercing the capsule, is mounted in an element for pressing said air. A similar drug dispensing device is described. In such a device, since the means for perforating the capsule is installed in the element for pressing the air, the element for pressing the air becomes large, which has the disadvantage that handling of the device is inconvenient. ing. In addition, since the capsule is perforated at the bottom of the capsule and close to the air-pressing element, when the air-pressing element inhales air, the powdered drug presses the air. It also has the disadvantage that it tends to flow back into the elements that are used to do so.

On the other hand, as other powder drug dispensing devices, US
Publication P2946332 discloses a means for introducing an air flow into a capsule for inhalation by a patient, a housing for introducing the powdered medicine inside the capsule into the patient's nose or oral cavity, and a cap for the housing. A powder drug dispensing device is described, comprising a needle mounted in the cap, which is the means for perforating the capsule. In such devices, the needle that is used to perforate the capsule is attached at almost the same length as the cap, so there are drawbacks such as the needle hitting the patient's fingers when handling the device, resulting in safety concerns. I have a sexual problem.

In the powder drug dispensing device of the invention, the perforation means for the capsule filled with the powder drug are integrated into the distal end of the drug dispensing device, rather than being mounted in an element for forcing air to pass through the device. The needle is attached to the cap of the fitted body with the cylindrical member. The length of this needle is shorter than the length of the cap. This drug dispensing device is miniaturized and convenient to handle, and since the needle used as the puncturing means is short, the needle does not touch the patient's finger when using the drug dispensing device, making it extremely safe. It is excellent in this respect.

The drug dispensing device of the present invention has a cap for the fitted body consisting of the tip and the cylindrical member, and has a needle for piercing a powdered drug capsule. The length of the needle for piercing must be shorter than the length of the cap. Although the length of the needle depends on the thickness of the cap, it is preferably in the range of 80% to 40% of the length of the cap, particularly preferably in the range of 75% to 40%. In practice, the length of the needle is usually 5 mm to 30 mm shorter than the cap, preferably 10 mm to 25 mm shorter. Furthermore, the inner diameter of the cap is preferably 13 mm or less, particularly 11 mm or less, in order to make it difficult for children's fingers to enter. By making the length of the needle shorter than the length of the cap in this manner, the patient can safely handle the medication device without touching the needle with his or her fingers. Further, it is preferable that the tip of the needle be a diagonally cut needle, and it is particularly preferable that the tip of the needle be finished with a lancet point.

In accordance with the present invention, there is also an element for forcing the air through the device. The element is attached to the cylindrical member and is a collapsible ball or similar container made of rubber or flexible polymer. The bottom of the element is fitted with a valve mechanism to allow air to be drawn into the element and to prevent air from being expelled when the element is pressed. The valve is a disc-shaped rubber plate that moves during air intake to create a gap for air to pass through and prevents air from escaping when the element for pushing it through the air device is pressed. Therefore, it comes into close contact with the valve seat.

Furthermore, the pressing element of the present invention does not include a means for perforating the capsule inside, and therefore can be made smaller. On the other hand, the pressing element, i.e., a spherical or similar container, is usually pressed 4 to 20 times completely, depending on the amount of capsule contents, until almost all of the drug in the capsule is expelled. Preferably, it is sized to allow air to escape.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The powdered drug dispensing device of the present invention will be exemplified below with reference to the accompanying drawings. The accompanying drawings illustrate one embodiment of the invention. In the accompanying drawings, a cap 1 with a needle 10 having a length shorter than the length of the cap 1 is shown with a tip 2 having an opening 11.
A state in which the cylindrical member 3 and the cylindrical member 3 are fitted together is shown. The cylindrical member 3 has an element 13 for receiving in a capsule 9 consisting of a concave portion 12 and a tip 2 in the cylindrical member. Element 13 is preferably sized to create a void when capsule 9 is accommodated, as shown in the drawings. In the lower part of the element 13 there is a passage 14 for the introduction of air leading to the element 6 for pressing. It is preferable to make the passage 14 narrower than the element 13 in order to prevent backflow of the drug, that is, the flow of the drug toward the pressing element 6. For the same reason, it is preferable that the passage 14 is further narrowed at its bottom 15. Further, there is a valve 17 at the bottom of the cylindrical member 3 to prevent backflow of the powdered medicine. The valve 17 has a cross-shaped space 16 in a portion communicating with the passage 15.
It is provided as a disc-shaped rubber plate. The valve 1
7 is in close contact with the valve seat 8 to prevent backflow of air. A spherical pressing element 6 is glued to the cylindrical member 3.

A valve mechanism consisting of elements 4, 5, and 7 for unilaterally introducing air is attached to the spherical pressing element 6. That is, element 7 is a rubber valve, which tightly contacts the valve seat of element 4 to prevent air from escaping from the air intake. The element (valve holder (1)) 4 is also structured to prevent the air that is forced out when the element 6 is pressed from escaping through the gap between the elements 4 and 6. Element (valve holder (2)) 5
is fitted into element 4 so that air can pass through when air is taken in, but element 7 does not fall into element 6.
