Claims

In a variable nozzle turbocharger, in which a nozzle vane whose opening degree can be adjusted by rotating a shaft is provided in an annular gas passage extending from a swirl chamber to a turbine wheel and formed by a housing, one blade end surface of the nozzle vane. A recess is formed in a wall of the annular gas passage facing the annular gas passage, a wall member is slidably fitted in the recess in the axial direction of the nozzle vane, and the annular gas passage faces the wall member and the other blade end surface of the nozzle vane. A variable nozzle turbocharger characterized in that the nozzle vane is connected to the wall surface of the nozzle vane by a connecting rod having the same coefficient of thermal expansion as the nozzle vane.
