Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable representation of different hue according to the quantity of applying energy, by forming an ink layer containing a plurality of sublimation dyes having respectively different sublimation temperature and hue and a desired binder onto a substrate. CONSTITUTION:Film of polyethylene terephthalate or a capacitor paper can be employed as a basic material 2 for forming an ink layer 1. Sublimation dyes of cyan, yellow or magenta having different sublimation temperature are selected as a plurality of sublimation dyes being contained in the ink layer 1. Consequently, when different quantity of energy is applied onto an ink ribbon 3 corresponding to a different image information, different hue can be represented based on mixture of a plurality of sublimation dyes.

When using the above-mentioned conventional ink ribbon for sublimation transfer printing, different image information is expressed only by shading of the same color, and it is not possible to obtain prints with different hues depending on different image information. Ta. However, if prints expressed in different hues can be obtained in accordance with different image information, recognition of the image information will be more accurate and easier.

According to the present invention, by containing a plurality of sublimable dyes having different sublimation temperatures and hues in the same ink layer (1), the ink ribbon can be applied with different energy depending on different image information. In the case of (3), it becomes possible to express different color tones based on the color mixture of a plurality of sublimable dyes. Specifically, the sublimation temperature of the magenta sublimable dye is a °C, the sublimation temperature of the yellow sublimable dye is b °C higher than a °C, and the sublimation temperature of the cyan sublimable dye is c'C higher than b °C. if you did this,
When energy is applied until the temperature of the ink layer (1) reaches a degree Celsius, a magenta color is obtained on the photographic paper (5), and then when the applied energy is increased until the temperature of the ink layer (1) reaches b degrees Celsius, it becomes magenta and yellow. When the applied energy is further increased until the temperature of the ink layer (1) reaches c.degree. C., color development is obtained by mixing the colors of magenta, yellow and cyan.

The ink ribbon (3) is heated to a predetermined temperature with a thermal head (4), and the sublimable dye in the ink layer (1) is transferred to the photographic paper (5).
Sublimation transfer was carried out on top. (6) is a platen. By changing the applied energy of the thermal head (4) from high to low, the hues obtained on the photographic paper (5) are changed from black to dark gray, dark brown, red, magenta, and pink. And I was able to change it to white.

In the above example, the cyan, yellow, and magenta sublimable dyes were contained together in the same ink layer. The same photographic paper can contain dyes in different ink layers and suitably contain dyes in multiple ink layers depending on the applied energy.
By superimposing them on each other and subjecting them to sublimation transfer, it becomes possible to express a hue consisting of a mixture of colors in the same way as in the above embodiment.

According to the present invention, colors with different hues can be obtained by simply changing the amount of energy applied during one sublimation transfer using an ink ribbon having one type of ink layer formed thereon. Therefore,
When the present invention is applied to medical electronics (ME) and used to read image information from X-ray photography, unlike conventional black and white or monochromatic shading printing, it is possible to print images according to different image information. Because you can get prints with different hues,
Recognition of image information becomes accurate and easy.
