As mentioned above, since the taper was adjusted by eye and then cut by hand, the taper inevitably became irregular. Further, there was a drawback that the finished shape was largely influenced by the skill level of the operator, and there was a risk of damage to the internal semiconducting layer.

The taper cutting jig of the present invention consists of a taper guide formed by cutting off the circumferential wall of a hollow cylinder with two planes symmetrical to the cylinder axis and inclined at an angle equal to the angle of the taper to be cut with respect to the cylinder axis; A straight part connected to the narrow part of the taper guide and formed by cutting off the peripheral wall at two planes that are symmetrical about the cylinder axis and spaced apart from the cylinder axis by a distance equal to the outer diameter of the internal semiconductive layer, and this straight part. A jig base is provided with a cylindrical shaft in which the sum of the lengths of the straight parts and the length of the straight part is equal to the conductor outlet length at the connection part, and a jig base that engages with the jig base and connects it to the cable core shaft. It is characterized by having a means for restraining in the direction.

FIGS. 1A and 1B are a plan view and a side view of an embodiment of the present invention. In these figures, the jig base 1
The taper guide 2 is formed by cutting a hollow cylindrical peripheral wall with an inner diameter approximately equal to the outer diameter of the cable core with two planes arranged symmetrically with respect to the axis and inclined at an angle equal to the taper to be cut with respect to the axis.
and a straight shape connected to the small width part of the taper guide 2 and cut at two planes separated from the axis by the diameter of the internal semiconducting layer of the cable to be cut in a symmetrical arrangement with respect to the axis of the hollow cylinder. It has part 3. In addition, 4 in the figure indicates a stop ring, and the sum of this axial dimension and that of the cylindrical part 5 connected to the straight part 3 becomes the conductor outlet length.

テーパ面は、紙やすり等によつて仕上げる。 First, without attaching the stop ring 4 to the cable core C, the jig base 1 is engaged with the connecting end of the cable core C and held concentrically with the cable core C, and the wide end of the tapered guide 2 is held concentrically with the cable core C. The knife is positioned on the connection end side (right side in the figure) from the tapered cutting part, and the knife is moved along the taper guide 2 to perform rough cutting. This rough cutting is performed by rotating the jig base 1 around the cable core C over the entire circumference. By repeating rough cutting while gradually shifting the jig 1 toward the starting point of the cutting taper (to the left in the figure), the taper cutting can be almost completed. In the figure, C 1 to C 5 indicate the order of rough cutting. At this point, the stop ring 4 is engaged with the cable core C, and a pin passing through the through hole 4a is driven into the cable insulator to fix the stop ring 4. Here, the jig base 1 is brought into contact with the stop ring 5, and a knife is slid along the taper guide 2 and the straight portion 3 to perform taper cutting and exposing the internal semiconductive layer.
Note that at this time, the outer semiconducting layer is also scraped off in accordance with the taper of the insulator. The tapered surface cut as described above is finished with sandpaper or the like.

This allows the internal semiconducting layer to be exposed without fear of damage.

In this embodiment, the cable core C is fixed by a cleat-type fixing base 6 instead of the stop ring 4, and the jig base 1 is engaged with a hollow shaft 7 provided integrally with the fixing base 6. This embodiment also provides the same effects as the embodiments described above.

The jig base 1 is attached to the jig so that it is held concentrically with the cable core, so unlike the jig of the first embodiment, it can be used even when attached to cable cores with different outer diameters. I can do it.

As is clear from the above, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a cable that can be used to manufacture a cable having a semiconductive outer layer and a semiconductive outer layer.
Since the tapered shape of the insulator can be easily and uniformly cut and the internal semiconductor layer can be exposed without risk of being damaged, the cable connection work can be carried out efficiently.
