[Detailed Description of the Invention] This invention relates to the position and structure of a switch part of a penlight having a clip part.

It is known that the switch part of a penlight has a push switch or a slide switch located in the middle of the main body case, but since it was originally designed to have almost the same shape as a pen and to increase portability, it was designed as shown above. The switch part has a low commercial value due to its design. Furthermore, when a penlight is stored in a pocket, it may turn on for some reason against the user's will, which not only wastes battery power, but also prevents the light from turning on when the user actually uses it. An inconvenient situation will occur.

In order to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks, a switch is formed at the end of the main body and turned on and off by rotating it relative to the main body around the axial direction of the main body. However, in this case, the switch cannot be operated smoothly and both hands are required, which is cumbersome for the user.

Therefore, as shown in U.S. Pat. No. 2,600,418 shown in FIG. 1, a device is known in which the clip portion 1 itself is used as a switch, so that the switch is not accidentally turned on because of the design. However, due to the contact between the clip part 1 itself and the main body 2,
Although the switch does not accidentally turn on when it is stored in a pocket, it tends to remain on when taken out of the pocket, and there is always a space required between the clip part 1 and the main body 2, so the installation precision must be high. This inevitably increases the cost, and furthermore, the clamping force between the clip portion 1 and the main body 2 is inevitably reduced.

In order to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks, this idea
A leaf spring 3 is attached to the back side of the clip part 1', and the switch is turned on and off by contact between the leaf spring 3 and the main body case 4, thereby making it easy to design and further improving the user's intention when storing the clip in a pocket. On the contrary, it provides a penlight that does not require a switch.

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, a battery 5 is inserted into a cylindrical main body case 4 made of a conductive metal material such as aluminum or stainless steel. A light source section 7 having a light bulb 6 is held at one end of the main body case 2, and a non-conductive synthetic resin battery cover 8 is fitted onto the other end.
A clip portion 1' and a leaf spring 3 extend from the battery cover 8 along the outer surface of the main body case 4. A conductive coil spring 9 extends spirally inward from the main body case 1' on the battery cover 8, and is connected to a power source such as a rechargeable battery or a dry battery 5.

As shown in FIG. 5, the clip part 1' and the leaf spring 3
, there is a rib 10 erected in the center of the battery cover 8.
There are circular holes 11 and 12 that fit into the battery cover 8, and the leaf spring 3 is fitted onto the battery cover 8 in a superimposed state on the back side of the clip. Furthermore, the clip portion 1' is formed in a dogleg shape as shown by the dotted line in FIG. They are biased toward each other. The leaf spring 3 is made of an electrically conductive member, and one end thereof is bonded to the coil spring 9. Furthermore, a decorative piece 13 made of an insulating material such as plastic as shown in FIG. 6 is fitted onto the tip of the clip portion 3 to provide a certain amount of clamping force between the clip portion 1' and the main body case 4. A push switch through hole 14 is bored in the middle. A push switch 15 is slidably inserted into this through hole, and a retaining portion 16 is formed at the bottom of the push switch 15 to prevent it from coming off upward. The tip of the leaf spring 3 is inserted into the recess 17 of the decorative piece 13 as shown in FIG.
comes into contact with this leaf spring 3, and the retaining portion 16 of the push switch 15 is always urged in the clip direction by the elastic restoring force of the leaf spring 3.

The light source part 7 has two contact parts, one contact part 18 is connected to the battery 5, and the other contact part 1 is connected to the battery 5.
9 is connected to the outer surface of the conductive main body case 4. When the push button 15 is pushed toward the main body case 4 side, the leaf spring 3 is also moved and deflected toward the main body case 4 side, so that the leaf spring 3 and the main body case 4 come into contact, and as shown by the arrow in FIG. 4, the battery 5 → coil spring 9 → plate A closed circuit consisting of the spring 3 → main body case 4 → light bulb 6 → battery 5 is created, and power is supplied to the light source section 7.
The light bulb 6 in the light source section 7 lights up. When the push button 15 is released, the push button 15 moves upward due to the elastic restoring force of the leaf spring 3, the switch between the leaf spring 3 and the main body case 4 is turned off, the power supply is stopped, and the light bulb 6 goes out.

As shown in FIG. 5, when the penlight is held in the pocket 20, the decorative piece 13 of the clip portion 1' protects the tip 21 of the leaf spring 3, so that the leaf spring 3 is held in the pocket 20. There is no risk of damaging the hook pocket 20 or the leaf spring 3,
In addition, the pocket 20 allows the leaf spring 3 and the main body case 4 to be
Therefore, even if the push switch 15 is pressed against the user's will, the battery 5 will not be connected, and even when the penlight is taken out from the pocket 20, the direction of the clamping force of the clip portion 1' and the leaf spring will not be connected. Since the pressing direction of the battery 3 is opposite, the leaf spring 3 and the main body case 4 do not come into contact unless the push switch 15 is pressed, so that the battery 5 can be prevented from being wasted.

As described above, the main body case 4 has a conductive part at least in part, and the power supply section includes a rechargeable battery or a dry battery 5 inserted into the main body case 4,
A penlight comprising a light source part 7 attached to one end of the main body case 4 and connected to a power supply part through the conductive part, and a clip part 1' extending and formed along the outer surface of the main body case 4. , a leaf spring 3 connected to the power supply section is provided on the back side of the clip section 1'.
A push switch 15 is provided between the clip portion 1' and the elastic piece and a part of the push switch 15 is exposed from the outside of the clip portion 1'. The penlight is characterized in that it is pressed by the push switch 15 to establish electrical continuity between the power supply section and the conduction section of the main body case 4, and the penlight will not be turned on against the user's will when stored in a pocket, and the clip will not be turned on. The clamping force exists regardless of the pressing force of the switch, so even if the clamping force of the clip is increased, the switch will not remain stuck in, and furthermore, the switch part fits compactly into the penlight,
It has an excellent design and has high commercial value as a penlight.
