を消去することが行われている。本発明はこのイ
レイズランプによる残留静電荷像の消去を常に充
分に行つてクリーニング効果を高めようとするも
のである。

による静電的飛散作用及び機械的払拭作用を受
け、その一部はクラウド状となり直接磁気ロール
10aの磁気吸引力でスリーブ10b上に補集さ
れ、残りは感光体1上に均一に分散付着される。
フアーブラシ2の摺擦部を通過するとき感光体表
面にはフアーブラシによつて付与される交番電界
作用に依る均一でかつ無数の微小線状静電荷像が
形成される。この像はフアーブラシ印加電圧が交
流で周波数が50Hzの場合、幅0.05mm、長さ0.5〜
2mm程度のものであり、プラス電荷像とマイナス
電荷像がほぼ同数の割合で形成される。感光体1
はフアーブラシ2を通過直後イレイズランプ6の
照射を受けるのであるが、感光体がP型半導体を
使用している場合プラス電荷像は消去できるがマ
イナス電荷像は消去できない(N型の場合はバイ
アスはマイナスとなる)。そこでフアーブラシ2
に交流電圧500Vに加えてプラス250Vの直流バイ
アスを印加することに依り微小線状静電荷像をす
べてプラスに揃えることができる。従つて静電荷
像はイレイズランプ6の光照射に依つて完全に消
去され感光体上に不安定な状態で付着している磁
性トナーは、磁気ロールの主磁極N1に依り形成
された磁性トナーの穂により完全にクリーニング
される。
