Abstract

PURPOSE:To contrive to improve the operability and to prolong the life of an input pen by using a pen supported by a support member so that the pen can swing and an amplifier which is filled with liquid. CONSTITUTION:The tip of the pen 3 of the input pen is brought into slanting contact with the detection surface 12 of a tablet and then the pen 3 swings to draw the lower end surface 56 of the amplifier 5 downward. Consequently, a bellows part 51 expands to increase the capacity of a large-diameter cylinder 53, and the liquid in the amplifier 5 moves to the cylinder 53 to make a bellows part 54 on the side of a small-diameter cylinder 53, so that the movement quantity of an output surface 57 is increased as compared with the movement quantity of an input surface 56. A magnet 8 fixed to the output surface 57 of the amplifier 5, therefore, moves toward the pen 3 and electromotive force generated by the variation of magnetic flux penetrating a coil 10 is applied as a command signal (timing signal for coordinate detection) to a coordinate detecting device. When the input pen is made to leave the tablet detection surface 12, the support member 2 restores itself by its elasticity and to restore the bellows part 54 and shrink the bellows part 51.

Since the magnet 8 is fixed to the upper end surface of the amplifier 5, the amount of movement H of the lower end surface of the amplifier 5 is 12/γ2.
Move in the axial direction by twice as much. At this time, in the coil 9 fitted with the magnet 8, the magnetic flux passing through the coil 9 changes due to the movement of the magnet 8, so an electromotive force is generated according to the law of electromagnetic induction. The electromotive force is applied to the coordinate detection device as a command signal (timing signal for detecting coordinates).
