- 周縁部にシール材を介して対向して貼り合わさ
れた一対の基板を有するネガ表示の液晶表示素子
において、上記一対の基板のうち少なくとも一方
の基板の周縁部に上記シール材の形成部分を覆う
ように遮光層を形成したことを特徴とする液晶表
示素子。
