DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a knife blade for forming narrow grooves on the tread surface of a tire during vulcanization.

In general, a method is adopted in which a large number of narrow grooves of 2 mm or less are formed on the surface of the tire tread in order to improve wet grip and prevent uneven wear. When vulcanizing a tire, this narrow groove is formed by attaching a knife blade to the tread ring of the mold in advance so that the blade enters the inside of the tread portion, that is, so that the blade surface is in the radial direction of the tire. Formed at the same time as vulcanization.

FIG. 2 shows another example of a conventional knife blade, which is used to form an L-shaped narrow groove, and the anchor portion 2 and the blade portion form the same plane. When the tire is cured using the knife blade and removed from the vulcanization mold, the blade is embedded in the tread rubber, making it difficult to peel and remove the blade from the tread rubber. After removal, the area around the narrow groove may be damaged by insects. This phenomenon is reinforced by the steel-coated belt layer on the tread section,
This is especially noticeable in steel belt radial tires with particularly high tread rigidity.

The present invention effectively prevents this phenomenon by changing the shape of the knife blade, and proposes a knife blade that makes it possible to form narrow grooves in accordance with a predetermined design.

In the figure, the knife blade 1 of the present invention has an anchor part 5 embedded in the tread ring of the vulcanization mold.
The blade part 6 penetrates into the tread rubber during vulcanization and forms narrow grooves on the surface of the tread part. The anchor portion 5 and the blade portion 6 form a boundary S at a portion where the side contour line forms the recess 7. A bending part K is formed at a constant distance from the boundary S of the blade part 6, and the tip part 6a of the blade part is formed at a predetermined angle θ, preferably 140°, with respect to the anchor part 5 with the bending part as a border. It is bent at an angle in the range of ~165°. By forming the bent portion K, when the vulcanized tire is taken out from the mold, the blade portion deforms in the direction of arrangement of the anchor portions, so to speak, and escapes when detached, and the attached rubber around the blade portion deforms. The detachment force of the blade part is alleviated, and damage to the surrounding rubber can be suppressed. Therefore, the anchor part 5
If the angle between the blade portion 6a and the blade portion 6a is too large, for example close to 180 degrees or close to 90 degrees, this effect will be small.

The knife blade of the present invention can be mounted on a tread ring in the same manner as in the prior art in that the blade portion is disposed in a direction substantially perpendicular to the tread surface.

FIG. 4 shows another embodiment of the present invention, which corresponds to FIG. 2 showing the conventional shape in that the blade portion 8 is approximately L-shaped. It goes without saying that in the present invention, the shape of the knife blade may be modified in various ways other than those described above.

In this way, since the present invention forms an angle between the anchor part and the blade part, when the vulcanized tire is removed from the mold, the blade part moves from the surrounding rubber and the rubber peels off due to escape. This makes it easier to grip, suppresses damage around the narrow grooves, allows deep grooves to be formed in the tread portion, and provides even more effective wet grip at the worn end of the tread.
