A group of photoelectric conversion elements 2 arranged in a linear manner is fixed to the base 1 with an adhesive or the like. Further, an SLA 4 is attached via an SLA mounting bracket 3, which is made up of a large array of optical fibers whose refractive index is highest on the axis and decreases parabolically toward the periphery. Next, an LED unit 7, which is a light source for illuminating the original 14, is attached by screws 8 to each of two LED attachment members 6 attached to both sides of the LED base 5 by screws 9.
The LED unit 7 is adjusted to provide a constant illuminance when irradiating the reading position C of the document 14, and is attached to the LED mounting member 6 so that the irradiation position is above the reading position C. The base 1 to which the photoelectric conversion element group 2 is fixed and the LED base 5 are coupled with screws 10. Further, in order to feed out the document 14 in the direction of arrow B, a feed roller 13, a pressing plate 11, and an ejection guide plate 1 are provided.
2 is provided, and the document 14 is transported by a feed roller 13.
The rotation in the direction of arrow A causes it to be drawn out in the direction of arrow B.

The height H of the conventional photoelectric conversion device configured as described above is H=t+S+l (where t is the height of the base 1
, S is the thickness of photoelectric conversion element group 2, and l is the thickness of
SLA4 imaging distance), it was quite thick and needed to be made smaller. Further, when assembling them, the photoelectric conversion element group 2 and the LED unit 7 had to be assembled individually using screws, etc., and the optical axis 15 and the reading position C had to be adjusted each time.

By the way, when attaching the photoelectric conversion element group 2 to the base 17 according to the present invention, the photoelectric conversion element group 2 is positioned with reference to the reference end 18 provided on the base 17 and fixed with an adhesive or the like. Furthermore, when attaching the LED unit 7, it is attached to the base 17 using the screws 8 using the reference end 19 as a reference. At this time, the distance m from the base 17 to the reading position C and the distance n from the optical axis of the LED unit 7 to the reference end 19 are maintained at precisely predetermined values. By the way, the SLA 4 is mounted around the optical axis 15 by the SLA mounting bracket 3 as in the conventional case.

The height H′ of the photoelectric conversion device according to the present invention is H′=
l' (However, l' is a value obtained by adding the elongation of the optical path length due to the refractive index of the glass to l in FIG. 1, and it can be considered that l'=l). Therefore, compared to the height H=l+S+t of a conventional photoelectric conversion device, it can be made thinner by (S+t).

The original 14 is detected by a light-emitting original detector 20 provided within the apparatus, and the feed roller 13 starts rotating in the direction of arrow A in response to the detection signal. Due to this rotation of the feed roller 13, the document 14 is moved to the arrow B
is sent out in the direction. Further, the photoelectric conversion device according to the present invention is also provided with a pressing plate 11 and an ejection guide plate 12 as in the conventional case, and the pressing plate 11 allows the distance from the light-receiving surface of the photoelectric conversion element group 2 to the reading surface of the original 14. The distance is configured to be the imaging distance of SLA4. Therefore, if the feed roller 13 is brought into close contact with the pressing plate 11, the original 14
When reading the image, the output of the photoelectric conversion element group 2 is not affected by the thickness of the original 14 in any way.

As described in detail above, according to the present invention, a group of photoelectric conversion elements arranged in a linear manner, a convergent optical transmitter array that focuses an image of a document to be read on the light receiving surface of the group of photoelectric conversion elements, In a photoelectric conversion device including a light emitting diode unit equipped with a light emitting diode for illuminating a document, a photoelectric conversion element mounting part for mounting a group of photoelectric conversion elements, a light emitting diode unit mounting part for mounting a light emitting diode, and a focusing part are provided. It is equipped with a base that integrates the convergent light transmitter array attachment part for attaching the convergent light transmitter array, and the dimensions of each attachment part are managed in advance by the base, so that convergent light transmission is possible. There is no need to adjust the optical axis of the body array or the reading position each time. Furthermore, since the height of the photoelectric conversion element can be made thinner than in the past, there is an advantage that the facsimile transmitter can be made smaller.
