Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an antibacterial and antifungal agent for rubbers and/or plastics, which exhibits an excellent antibacterial and antifungal acitivity by the use of a small amount thereof, by using 2-(thiocyanomethylthio)benzothiazole as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:2-(Thiocyanomethylthio)benzothiazole is used as an active ingredient and supported on a solid or liquid carrier to obtain the desired antibacterial and antifungal agent for rubbers and/or plastics. Preferred examples of the solid carrier are carbonates such as calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate and higher fatty acids (salts) such as stearic acid and palmitic acid. Preferred examples of the liquid carrier are org. solvent (e.g., toluene) water, etc. The active ingredient is mixed with or emulsified in the carrier to obtain the desired agent 2-(Thiocyanomethylthio)benzothiazole is used in an amount of 0.0001-1pt.wt. per 100pts.wt. high-molecular material such as a rubber.

、2−(チオシアノメチルチオ)ベンゾチアゾールを有
効成分とする殺菌剤が、極めて少量でゴム用及び/また
はプラスチック用の防菌防黴活性を有する優れた薬剤で
あることを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。
