Various safety valve devices have been proposed in the past, but they operate by detecting gas pressure within a battery. However, with this method, especially when attached to a small battery, it becomes difficult to accurately set the gas pressure when the safety valve is activated due to the miniaturization of components, and the safety valve operates with a predetermined gas pressure, so the valve hole There was a concern that the gas would escape more rapidly, resulting in leakage.

By the way, considering the cause of the increase in gas pressure inside the battery, for example, the battery temperature increases due to a short circuit inside or outside the battery, and as a result, the electrolyte evaporates and the gas pressure increases. That is, it is considered that the gas pressure increases due to the increase in battery temperature. Therefore, if you use a method that detects the battery temperature and activates the safety valve,
The structure is simple, and settings for operating the safety valve can be made accurately, and since the safety valve can be operated in a state where the gas pressure is low, the discharge of gas accompanied by leakage can be prevented.

The operation of the device of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 3. Although the device is normally in the state shown in FIG. Since the coefficient of thermal expansion is extremely different between the metal piece 7 and the sealing lid 1, as shown in FIG. , the gas generated within the battery is dissipated into the atmosphere, and destruction of the battery is prevented.

That is, one metal piece may be fixed to the inner surface of the sealing lid, or a thin wall portion may be formed partially on the outer can, and a metal piece may be fixed to the inner or outer surface of the outer can near this thin wall portion. . 2. When forming a thin wall part on a sealing lid or an outer can, in addition to forming an annular groove as in the embodiment, a groove having the shape as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 is provided to form a thin wall part 1'', 1 3. The device of the present invention is not limited to the button-type batteries shown in the embodiments, but can also be applied to cylindrical and square batteries.

As described above, the device of the present invention fixes a metal piece to the outer or inner surface of a metal plate for forming a battery container, which has a partially thin walled portion, and utilizes the difference in expansion between the metal plate and the metal piece as the battery temperature rises. Since the temperature detection method uses a temperature detection method that cuts the thin part of the metal plate by cutting the thin part of the metal plate, it is possible to accurately set the safety valve when it is activated and to detect when the gas pressure is low compared to conventional methods that detect the increase in the predetermined gas pressure. Since the safety valve can be operated by the gas, it is possible to suppress inconveniences such as liquid leakage when discharging gas, and its industrial value is extremely large.
