An outdoor unit that is embedded under the floor of an air conditioner uses the fact that the air under the floor is relatively cold in the summer and relatively warm in the winter to exchange heat between the air conditioner's heat medium and the air under the floor using a heat exchanger. The heat-exchanged air is then blown outside through the underfloor vents.

In the conventional structure of such an underfloor-embedded outdoor unit, a fan and a compressor are placed side by side, facing a heat exchanger. In some cases, the compressor is separated from the ventilation path connecting the heat exchanger and the fan motor underfloor ventilation port. This conventional structure has the disadvantage that the size of the outdoor unit must be made larger to accommodate the compressor than the actual size of the ventilation path.

The features of the under-floor embedded outdoor unit of the present invention are that the heat exchanger is installed below the floor than the fan motor in the air flow path by the fan motor, and the compressor is installed in the under-floor ventilation side of the air flow path than the fan motor. It is provided approximately at the center of the cross section.

According to the structure of the present invention, the fan motor and the compressor are not placed side by side facing the heat exchanger, so the size is reduced, and the air can flow through both sides of the compressor. There is no reduction in heat exchange capacity.

The window at the rear of this frame body is closed by a back plate 14, and the lower frame 11a at the front and the posts 12a and 12b on both sides of the front left and right extend outward toward the front, as best shown in FIG. It has a flange part,
This flange is used to secure the unit to the edge of the underfloor ventilation opening.

The heat exchanger 2 has a structure in which refrigerant pipes 22 are meanderingly passed through a large number of heat radiating plates 21 arranged at regular intervals, and the refrigerant pipes are bent into a U shape, as shown in FIG. 4 as a whole. It is shaped like a U. This heat exchanger 2 is attached to the frame 2 with the U-shape reversed so as to cover the windows on the left and right sides of the frame and the ceiling.

The compressor 5 is installed on the bottom plate 1 in front of the fan motor support stand 6, that is, below the frame 13a serving as a wind guide plate. In this case, the compressor 5 is mounted at approximately the center of the width of the ventilation hole, that is, at the center of the width of the bottom plate 1.

In an outdoor unit having such a structure, the heat exchanger 2, fan motor 3, and compressor 5 are installed as described above on the bottom plate 1 having a frame body, and these are inserted under the floor through the underfloor ventilation hole and fixed to the ventilation hole. After that, the louver 4 is placed over the ventilation hole to install it.

When the fan motor 3 is rotated during operation of the air conditioner using the outdoor unit installed in this way, the fan 3a rotates and heats the underfloor air as shown by the arrows in FIGS. 1 to 3. The air passes through the entire surface of the exchanger 2, passes through the fan 3a, passes both sides of the compressor 5, and is blown out from the louver 4 to the outdoors. In this way, heat exchange with the underfloor air takes place.

As is clear from the above description of the embodiment, the underfloor embedded type outdoor unit of this invention has the following advantages: The compressor, which is the heaviest of the components that make up the outdoor unit, is located at the front, so the center of gravity is forward and installation is stable. It is easy to insert through the ventilation opening. This can also be said because the arrangement of each component is symmetrical. Furthermore, by tilting the fan, the fan's blowing characteristics are stronger on the left and right and weaker in the center. Therefore, even if the compressor is located in the center of the ventilation circuit, it does not create any wind resistance and there is no deterioration in heat exchange characteristics.
