In the shock absorbers of this type of motorcycle, the shock absorbers have conventionally been attached to the steering system, so that when the steering wheel is operated, the shock absorbers also move. As a result, the steering system tends to become heavier, and the steering moment of inertia also increases.

2, and an intermediate position of the bell crank 42 is pivotally connected to the vehicle body frame 2 via an idler arm 43. In the above, in order to connect the bell crank 42 and the sliding member 31, for example, an opening is provided that penetrates the head pipe 30 in a substantially radial direction and allows the operation of the bell crank 42, and the bell crank 42 is inserted into the opening. It is configured so that it can be inserted.

When the front wheel 12 moves up and down, the upper fork 21, lower fork 22, middle arm 27, and tension rod 28 that make up the side quadrilateral link are deformed, and this deformation action causes the compressor that connects the lower end to the middle arm 27. The shaft rod 33 moves up and down. This vertical movement of the compression rod 33 causes the bearing head 3 to
2 through the compression rod 3.
A sliding member 31 connected to the head pipe 3 also slides up and down within the head pipe 30.

The sliding movement of the sliding member 31 within the head pipe 30 is converted into a swinging motion of a bell crank 42 that connects one end of the sliding member 31 to the sliding member 31, and this swinging motion of the bell crank 42 is bell crank 4
This is converted into an up and down movement of the piston rod 41 of the shock absorber 40 whose upper end is connected to the other end of the shock absorber 40, and finally the shock absorber 40 is activated. Due to the buffering action of the shock absorber 40, the shock transmitted from the front wheel 12 side is effectively absorbed and alleviated, thereby improving riding comfort.

In the above, since the front wheel shock absorber 40 is separated from the steering system and disposed on the vehicle body frame 2 side, it is possible to reduce the weight of the steering system by the weight of the shock absorber 40, which makes it easier to steer the steering wheel 29. It is possible to lower the steering inertia moment of the associated steering system,
As a result, the steering operation of the handle 29 becomes easier.

As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, a sliding member is slidably fitted into the head pipe, and the lower end of the sliding member is connected via a bearing head to a rod member that suspends the front wheel. Since the moving member and the shock absorber disposed on the vehicle body frame are connected via a swingable crank member, the weight of the steering system can be reduced, and the center of gravity of the vehicle can be lowered. The steering wheel can be operated easily and the steering stability can be improved.
