In order to connect this coaxial cable to other electrical components, the outer jacket of the terminal is stripped to expose the core wire and shield wire. However, if the shield wire is left in this exposed state, a portion of the shield wire that is not necessary for connection is usually exposed, and therefore, it is necessary to cover this portion with an insulating material and insulate it.

As shown in Figure 2(a), the outer sheath 2 of the coaxial cable 1 is stripped to expose the core wire 3 and shielded wire 4, and a heat shrink tube 6 is fitted to the end portion 11. As shown, the heat-shrinkable tube 6 is first fitted and moved to the main body portion 12 covered with the jacket 2, and then the heat-shrinkable tube 7 is fitted onto the shield wire 4 separated from the core wire 3. In this state, the heat-shrinkable tube 7 is heated and shrunk. Finally, as shown in FIG. 2(c), the aforementioned heat-shrinkable tube 6 is returned, and with the three parts of the main body 12, core wire 3, and heat-shrinkable tube 7 housed inside, the end is heated and shrunk. Processing completes.

In this step, the core wire is pulled out from the notch. The end of the coaxial cable is treated by heating and shrinking the heat shrink tube with the main body of the coaxial cable and the shield wire housed in the heat shrink tube.

In step 1, the outer jacket 2 is peeled off to expose the core wire 3 and the shield wire 4, and a heat shrink tube 5 is fitted. At this time, the heat-shrinkable tube 5 is pre-prepared to a length necessary and sufficient to cover the shielded wire 4 of the terminal portion 11 and the main body portion 12 covered with the outer sheath 2, and to allow the tip of the shielded wire 4 to slightly protrude. Further, a notch 51 is provided in the middle of the heat-shrinkable tube 5 for passing the core wire 3 through.

Even if the heat-shrinking treatment of the heat-shrinkable tube is incomplete, the ends will not shift from the specified position and lose their insulation properties, unlike conventional terminal processing methods, and in other words, the terminals will not be processed reliably. This improves the reliability of the electrical equipment itself. Moreover, since the construction method is simple, the labor rate is good.
