Conventionally, fixed terminals for small switches such as slide switches and push switches have been manufactured by a method as shown in FIG. That is, by punching a conductive metal plate such as brass, a rectangular main body 2 is provided with a vertically oriented slit 1 as shown in FIG. A terminal material A is produced by molding a molded product having a shape consisting of the terminal portions 4 connected through the terminal, and silver plating the entire molded product. Next, as shown in FIG. 1B, the terminal material A is fixed to the insulating substrate 5 by caulking the attachment part 3, and then cut along the cut line L to separate the upper edge of the main body part 2 over its entire length. , fixed terminals T 1 , T 2 as shown in Fig. 1 C,

In the conventional method as described above, the main body part 2 in FIG.
The portion 7 above the cut line L (dashed line portion) is discarded as a loss portion. In general, in small switches, the height h of the contact part 8 of the fixed terminal is usually about 2 mm, and the height H of the main body part 2 of the terminal material A is about
2h or approximately 4mm is required. This requires that the slit 1 extend above the cut line L, and that the width between the upper end of the slit 1 and the upper edge of the terminal material A is required to prevent the terminal material from deforming during crimping or cutting. This is because W needs to be about 1 mm, and the height of the portion 7 above the cut line L needs to be about 2 mm.

In the conventional manufacturing method as described above, the entire part of the material above the cut line L becomes a loss part.
There is a large amount of material loss. In particular, as the price of silver has soared in recent years, it is desired to reduce the loss portion as much as possible. Therefore, instead of cutting the terminal material as described above, we formed it from the beginning to the size of one completed terminal, and then silver-plated it.
A method of individually mounting the terminals on an insulating board has also been proposed, but this method not only has problems with accuracy because it is difficult to arrange each terminal in a straight line.
Since the installation work is very complicated, even if materials can be saved, manufacturing costs inevitably increase.

The present invention was made with attention to the above points, and is a fixed terminal that minimizes the loss of materials (conductive plates, silver), and makes it possible to obtain high-precision terminals with easy installation work. The purpose is to provide a manufacturing method.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIG. A main body part 2 comprising a slit 1 made of a conductive metal plate and oriented in the vertical direction as shown in FIG. 2A;
A terminal material A is produced by molding a molded product consisting of the mounting portion 3 and the terminal leg portion 4 and applying silver plating to the molded product. The terminal material A is integrated with the adjacent main body part 3 at the upper side of the main body part 3 by a connecting part 6 located at the upper part of the slit 7. In the present invention, the height H of the main body portion 2 is the height H of the completed terminals T 1 , T 2 ,
It is equal to the height h of the sliding contact portion 8 of T 3 (FIG. 2 C). The slit 1 extends to near the middle part of the height of the main body part 2 of the terminal material A, or to slightly above the middle part. After caulking this terminal material A to the insulating substrate 5 as shown in FIG. Cut and separate along. As a result, completed terminals T 1 , T 2 , and T 3 as shown in FIG. 2C are obtained.

As mentioned above, the height h of the sliding contact part 8 of the terminal of a small switch is usually about 2 mm, but the part h' that is actually used (the part where the movable contact actually makes sliding contact) is insulated. 0.5 to 1 mm from the surface of the board 5
The height range is . Therefore, strict accuracy is required in this range of height h', but not so much accuracy is required above this range. Therefore, it is preferable that the height of the slit 1 formed in the terminal material A is equal to or slightly larger than the height h'. In this way, even if the upper part of the slit 1 is cut off as shown in Fig. 2 (b), the part of the sliding contact part 8 that is actually used will be within the height of the slit 1, and the cut part will not affect the accuracy. do not have. Therefore, the slit 1 may be cut in any shape as long as it can be cut off, and the cut line L in FIG.
is not limited to. Several examples of the cut line L are shown in FIGS. 3A, 3B, and 3C, but it goes without saying that other shapes may be used.

As described above, according to the present invention, a rectangular main body portion is formed with a vertically oriented slit and has the same height as the sliding contact portion of the completed terminal;
A molded product consisting of a terminal leg connected to the lower part of the main body via a mounting part is molded from a conductive metal plate and plated to produce a terminal material, and this terminal material is attached to an insulating substrate. After caulking, the part located at the top of the slit is cut off without reducing the height to form a sliding contact part divided into multiple parts, so the loss due to cutting is minimal. This method has the advantage that silver can be saved, the overall cost can be reduced, the manufacturing process is simple, and a high-precision terminal can be obtained.
