As seen in the perspective view of Figure 1, a kotsuzumi is a musical instrument consisting of a body 1, which is a hollow wooden tube with a constricted central part, and leather 2 stretched over both open ends. Thread the string 3 called Shirabe through the holes (usually 6) and stitch the outer and inner leather at both ends, tighten or loosen the key with your left hand to change the tone, and beat one leather with your right hand. c) The sound is made by the resonance of the other leather.

As shown in the cross-sectional view of Fig. 2, conventional Kotsuzumi leather is made of natural leather 5 on the front side (not the body side) of the ring 4, which has a diameter approximately 9 cm larger than the diameter of the end of the body 1.
Stretch it, fold it back from the front side of the ring to the back side, and sew the front and back leather in a circle along the inside of the ring with thread 6. The lining leather touches and extends the outer leather until it touches the side of the body end, and then 5 mm vertically, and the edge of the rising part 7 is sewn in a circle with thread 8 to integrate the front and back leather, and the space between the top surface of the back side of the ring and the top surface of the rising part 7 of the back leather is created. The abrasive powder 9 was filled and hardened, and a hole was made into which the body 1 was inserted. In the past, all of the materials represented by 2 to 9 in FIG. 2 were collectively referred to as leather.

These conventional small drums, which used leather on both the front and back sides, did not sound properly when they were first made, but they only started sounding after five to ten years, making it highly uncertain. The reason why such conventional leather does not sound appropriate is because, for example, horse fetal leather (to distinguish it from the word "leather" above, the material to be pasted is expressed as "leather").
Even if you use the softest possible leather, such as leather, it is still thick, hard, and lacks elasticity, so it usually does not ring properly at first, and only after it has been rubbed and rubbed many times, it becomes soft and elastic. become. In addition, in the conventional method of making leather, it is necessary to use thick leather, and even if leather of appropriate material and thickness is used, it cannot be used with an appropriate degree of extensibility.

At the head of the Kotsuzumi family, the leather was made for his grandchildren, and it was difficult to make various small modifications to the leather to produce the appropriate sound, and to find cutlets with good outer and inner leather. It was a pre-modern thing, where you would go back and forth in search of the perfect cutlet and finally get it. Moreover, the manufacturing process was complicated, as it involved stretching the leather, sewing it together with thread, sewing it again with thread, and filling it with abrasive powder.

The inventor of the present invention has created a product that does not have these drawbacks, can sound accurately at the desired pitch from the beginning, continues to sound at the initially set pitch, is easy to manufacture, is suitable for mass production, and is inexpensive. In order to provide Kotsuzumi that is cheap and has the same or better appearance than conventional ones,
After extensive research, we came up with this idea.

That is, the present invention provides a body, leather that is in contact with both ends of the body,
and a small drum consisting of a tuning string bent through a hole in the periphery of the leather, the leather being removably fixed to a plastic disc having a body hole in the center and the plastic disc so as to close the body hole. It consists of a ring,
The present invention relates to a small drum, characterized in that leather having a desired degree of extensibility is adhered to the ring with an adhesive.

FIG. 3 is a sectional view showing one embodiment of the leather of the present invention. In the figure, 10 is a plastic disc for leather, 11 is a ring for pasting leather, 1
2 is leather, 13 is an adhesive layer, 14 is a thin screw for fixing the ring, 15 is a plastic disc 1
It is leather or cloth attached to the surface of 0. This adhesive layer is omitted from illustration. The appearance of this leather or cloth is similar to that of conventional leather, and the surface of the leather is pasted so that it looks uniform, and has nothing to do with the function of producing sound. Therefore, it is not necessary to adjust the tension of this leather, and it is sufficient to attach the leather with holes made in advance at the positions corresponding to the adjustment holes, aligning the holes. The abutment surface of the body hole of the plastic disk 10 is made vertical and smooth. Further, the vicinity of the contact surface on the back side may be slightly raised.

In making the small drum of the present invention, the leather is pulled uniformly outward from all sides with clamps 18 as shown in Fig. 5 using an appropriate tensioning tool, and the degree of tension is adjusted and the leather is struck. Check the pitch of the sound and adjust the tension of the leather so that it sounds at the desired pitch. After that, adhesive is applied to the back side of the ring 11 on top of the leather, and the adhesive surface is pressed and bonded.
Separate the outer leather. In traditional Kotsuzumi,
There was a theory that the part of the leather hardened with grinding powder also affected the sound, but according to the inventor's observation, it was actually only the leather in the body hole that made the sound, and that the leather on the body hole was the only part that made the sound. It was found that a ring was substituted and it worked well.

In the case of this invention, it is only necessary to press the ring with adhesive on top of the leather with an appropriate degree of extensibility, so the leather can be adjusted to the appropriate degree of extensibility, that is, the pitch, and held in that state, and the leather can be made into leather. Therefore, it is extremely advantageous. Also, by changing the front and back sides of the leather (sounding leather, beating leather), it became possible to easily produce many types of small drums using leather with different tensions and pitches. Furthermore, the ring covered with leather can be freely attached to and removed from the plastic disc using screws, making it easy to replace the leather that has stretched over long periods of use, adjust the pitch depending on the shape of the body, and make other fine adjustments to the pitch. It has the advantage that it can be done at will by extremely simple ring replacement.
