Therefore, conventional clothes dryers perform a so-called cool-down by running a heating operation for a time set by a timer and then running a cold air operation.

However, if the heating operation ends in a undried state due to a mistake in the timer setting, it is necessary to set the timer again and restart the heating operation, but at this time a cool-down occurs and the drying process ends. If the temperature of something has dropped, it takes time to bring it back to the original temperature when reheating, which wastes energy.

(d) Structure of the device The device uses a contact that closes when the thermostat, which keeps the temperature of the material to be dried constant by repeatedly opening and closing during heating operation, first opens, and a contact that closes during the heating operation time set by a timer. and a cool-down delay relay are connected in series, so that even if the timer setting time has expired and the thermostat has never opened because the material to be dried has not yet reached the specified temperature, The cool-down delay relay is not energized and therefore no cool-down is performed.

(E) Example 1 is a motor for driving the ventilation fan and drum of a clothes dryer, 2 is a power lamp that indicates that the electricity is on, and 3 is a timer for setting the heating operation time. 4 is a timer operation detection relay that opens the timer contact 3a after the timer is finished; 4 is a timer operation detection relay that is energized while the timer contact 3a is closed; when energized, the normally open contacts 4a and 4b are closed; and the normally closed contact 4c is opened. . 5 is a door switch that closes when the clothes input door is closed; 6 is a gas valve that controls the gas that serves as a heat source; 7 is a temperature switch that detects the exhaust temperature after drying the clothes and opens and closes it to keep the temperature of the clothes constant. The regulating thermostat 8 is a thermostat operation detection relay connected in series with the thermostat, which opens a normally closed contact 8a when energized. Reference numeral 9 denotes an electromagnetic switch for driving the motor, which closes contacts 9a and 9b when energized to energize the motor 1. Reference numeral 10 denotes a cool-down delay relay connected in series with the normally closed contacts 8a and 4c, which opens the delay contact 10a after a certain period of time has passed after energization, and 11 the normally closed contact 8a.
A self-holding relay connected in series with the normally-open contact 4a closes a contact 11a parallel to the normally-closed contact 8a to form a self-holding circuit when energized.
This closes the other front-open contact 11b in parallel with the front-open contact 11b.

In the above configuration, when the timer 3 is set to an appropriate time, the timer contact 3a closes to energize the timer operation detection relay 4, and at the same time the normally closed contact 4c is opened, the normally open contacts 4a and 4b are closed. As a result, the gas valve 6 is energized to ignite the gas, and at the same time, the motor drive electromagnetic switch 9 is energized to close the contacts 9a and 9b, and the motor 1 is energized to rotate the motor, and the blower fan and drum are turned on. The heating operation is performed by driving the . When the exhaust gas temperature reaches a predetermined value or higher during heating, the temperature control thermostat 7 opens to cut off the electricity to the gas valve 6, stopping the combustion of the gas. When the temperature drops in this state, the temperature regulating thermostat 7 closes its contacts again, and the gas valve 6 is energized to ignite again. By repeating opening and closing of the temperature regulating thermostat 7 in this manner, the temperature of the material to be dried is kept constant.

On the other hand, when the temperature control thermostat 7 opens and the power to the thermostat operation detection relay 8 is cut off, the normally closed contact 8a closes and the self-holding relay 1
1 and closes the self-holding contact 11a. Therefore, even if the temperature regulating thermostat 7 is subsequently closed again and the normally closed contact 8a is opened, the self-holding contact 11a continues to be closed.

In this way, the heating operation continues, and when the time set by the timer 3 has elapsed, the timer contact 3a
The normally open contact 4a, 4b is opened and the current to the timer operation detection relay 4 is cut off, so that the normally open contact 4c is closed at the same time that the normally open contact 4a, 4b is opened and restored.
Even if the normally open contact 11a opens, the other normally open contact 11b is closed by the current passing through the self-holding relay 11, so there is no effect on the circuit operation. However, the current passing through the gas valve 6 is cut off by the other normally open contact 4b opening, and heating is stopped. However, since the current continues to flow through the motor drive electromagnetic switch 9, the normally open contacts 9a and 9b are closed.
b is closed, and the power supply to the drive motor 1 for the blower fan and the drum continues, and so-called cool-down is performed. Meanwhile, as described above, since the normally closed contact 4c and the self-holding contact 11a are closed, the power is supplied to the cool-down delay relay 10, and after a certain time has elapsed, the delay contact 10a opens and the motor drive electromagnetic contact 9
The power supply to the motor 1 is cut off, and the contacts 9a and 9b are opened to terminate the power supply to the motor 1, thereby terminating all operations.

Next, consider a case where the timer is set incorrectly and the heating operation ends before the material to be dried reaches a predetermined temperature. At this time, since the temperature control thermostat 7 has never opened, the normally open contact 8a remains open, and the self-holding relay 11 is not energized, so the self-holding contact 11a is also in an open state. In this state, when the set time of the timer 3 expires and the timer contact 3a opens, the power to the timer operation detection relay 4 is cut off and the normally open contact 4a returns to open. On the other hand, as mentioned above, the self-holding relay 11
Since no current is flowing through the motor, the normally open contact 11b remains open, and as a result, the gas valve 6 and the motor drive electromagnetic switch 9 are de-energized and the operation is immediately terminated.

(f) Effects of the invention As described above, in this invention, when the temperature of the material to be dried reaches a predetermined value and the temperature control thermostat is opened even once, cooling down is performed after the heating operation is completed.
If the heating operation time ends before the predetermined temperature is reached due to a timer setting error, no cool-down will be performed, and therefore, if the mistake is noticed and the heating operation is restarted, it will take less time to return to the original temperature. It is shorter, and less energy is wasted. Further, it is sufficient to add a self-holding contact, etc., which closes when the temperature regulating thermostat first opens, to the conventionally known circuit, and there is an advantage that the conventional circuit can be easily improved.
