Abstract

PURPOSE:To strengthen support and increase reliability by providing a metallic substrate formed with an open X-ray transmitting region, an X-ray transmitting foil superposed on the metallic substrate and a holding plate for holding down the periphery of the X-ray transmitting foil to fix it to the metallic substrate. CONSTITUTION:An X-ray window is formed such that a metallic substrate 12 pierced by an open X-ray transmitting region 11 is covered with the open region 11 by an X-ray transmitting foil 13 located on the substrate 12, a holding plate 15 with a window 14 constituting the X-ray transmitting region applied on the surface of the foil 13 holds the periphery of the foil 13, and the holding plate 15 is fixed to the substrate 12 by screws or the like. Thus, the X-ray transmitting foil 13 is tightly sandwiched between the substrate 12 and the holding plate 15 and the reliability of the X-ray window can be increased.

2図に従来のX線窓の一例を示す。X線透過領域1をく
り俵いた″金属基板2上に、X線透過領域1の開口を覆
ってその口縁4に薄いX線透過箔3をろう付けしたもの
であった。
