Conventionally, when heat treating long materials such as rods or tube materials, it has been common practice to load the long objects to be heated on racks or trays, place them on conveyor rollers, and transport them into the furnace. Ta. That is, in the case of a roller hearth type heat treatment furnace, a flange-like part is conventionally provided integrally at both ends of the conveying roller in the furnace, and this flange-like part prevents the object to be heated from falling off to the side. If the object to be heated is placed directly on the conveyor roller and conveyed, there is a risk that the object will be scratched or fall off due to the brim, so a rack or a tray is usually used. The object to be heated was placed on this and carried into the furnace. However, this has the disadvantage that the tray and the like are heated at the same time as the object to be heated, which increases the cost of the thermal energy required for heating.

In addition, conventional roller hearth furnaces prevent thermal deformation of the conveying rollers by constantly rotating the conveying rollers in forward and reverse directions to cause the object to be heated to reciprocate within the furnace (referred to as oscillation). However, in that case, space is required in the furnace for the objects to be heated to move back and forth, so a long furnace length is required, and
The drawback was that long-term oscillation caused scratches on the heated object.

This invention aims to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks.
A furnace in which a plurality of conveyance rollers driven to rotate in a fixed direction by a motor are arranged horizontally on the hearth, and a long object to be heated is placed on the conveyance rollers and moved in the longitudinal direction of the furnace. A supporting member is provided at intervals between the conveying rollers, and rotatable guard rolls are provided at both ends of the supporting member so that the guard rolls always protrude above the conveying surface of the conveying rollers. This is a roller hearth type heat treatment furnace characterized by being provided with an elevating means for moving the support surface of the support member into and out of the conveyance surface of the conveyance roller.

As explained in the embodiments above, the roller hearth type heat treatment furnace of the present invention has a roller hearth type heat treatment furnace provided at both ends of the support member in case the long object to be heated is moved laterally even if it is placed directly on the conveying roller. Only the slight frictional force exerted by the rolling contact on the guardrail prevents it from falling off, which reduces the occurrence of scratches and improves the quality of the product. Also easy,
Since there is no need to use a tray or the like, significant energy savings can be achieved. Furthermore, by raising the support member along with the guard roll, the long object to be heated can be stably supported on the support member in a stationary state and heated in that state, so that during heating, unlike conventional It eliminates the need for oscillation, eliminates problems such as the occurrence of scratches and lengthening of the furnace length due to oscillation, and has the beneficial effect of making it possible to improve quality, save equipment, and save energy.
