Abstract

PURPOSE:To inhibit the formation of chlorine ions even when hydrocarbon halide used as a detergent intrudes into a capacitor case, and to prevent the corrosion of a capacitor element by adding nitrobenzoic acid or its salt to a solution in which gamma-butyrolactone is used as a main solvent and the quaternary ammonium salt of an organic acid as a solute. CONSTITUTION:Nitrobenzoic acid or its salt is added and dissolved into an electrolyte, which employs gamma-butyrolactone as a main solvent and into which the quaternary ammonium salt of an organic acid is dissolved. It is preferable that one kind or more of orthonitrobenzoic acid, metanitrobenzoic acid and paranitrobenzoic acid are used as said nitrobenzoic acid. The electrolyte such as an electrolyte, in which 20g tetramethylammonium phthalate and 0.5g orthonitrobenzoic acid are dissolved into 79.5g gamma-butyrolactone, or an electrolyte in which 15g tetramethylammonium phthalate and 1g paranitrobenzoic acid are melted into a solvent into which 69g gamma-butyrolactone and 15g ethylene glycol are mixed is employed.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention Regarding aluminum electrolytic capacitors, cleaning process,
During the removal process of solder flanks used when attaching to printed circuit boards, halogenated hydrocarbons can penetrate through the rubber stopper and enter the capacitor by immersion in halogenated hydrocarbons used as a cleaning agent or in a steam bath. However, it decomposes to produce chlorine ions, which can corrode capacitor elements.゛Means for Solving the Problems The present invention solves the above-mentioned problems and allows cleaning of aluminum electrolytic capacitors without impairing the excellent characteristics obtained from the driving electrolyte of conventional aluminum electrolytic capacitors. The present invention provides a driving electrolytic solution that can be incorporated into various processes. That is, the electrolytic solution for driving an aluminum electrolytic capacitor is characterized in that nitrobenzoic acid or a salt thereof is added to a solution containing T-butyrolactone as a main solvent and a quaternary ammonium salt of an organic acid as a solute.

The electrolyte solutions according to the present invention with electrolyte sample symbols C and D can be used even if the above-mentioned cleaning solution penetrates into the capacitor element.
No corrosion occurred in the high-temperature load test, and all properties were improved without any problems. Note that the mixed addition of meta-nitrobenzoic acid, ortho-nitrobenzoic acid, meta-nitrobenzoic acid, and para-nitrobenzoic acid also showed equivalent characteristics when treated in the same manner as in the Examples shown in Table 1.
