Conventionally, baby diapers use two or three so-called Japanese-style cotton ring-type exposed diapers, each of which is folded vertically and placed against the crotch area, which not only makes diaper changing operations complicated. There is also a concern that it may slip off during use, and since the basic fabric of Japanese-style cotton ring-type exposed diapers is a simple plain weave thin fabric, it has poor water retention ability, which compensates for the drawbacks. Therefore, when washing Japanese-style cotton ring-type bleached diapers, a large number of diapers are used each day as they dry. In addition, due to the type of fiber used, that is, the characteristics of cotton fiber, the drying area had to be large, which caused an extremely strong wet feeling when wet. Moreover, even though these products require washing and drying every day, regardless of rain or shine, their main constituent fiber, cotton fiber, is a synthetic fiber and takes longer to dry than acrylic fiber. These Japanese-style ring diapers had many drawbacks, such as the need to prepare a larger number of diapers than necessary. In order to improve these defects, for example, the front and back sides are made of a cloth with a mesh structure such as tricots using hydrophobic fibers, and cotton gauze etc. is inserted in the inner layer, as disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 47-7864. Utility Model Publication No. 48-40109 describes a product in which non-woven fabric or paper made of synthetic fibers, a web made of synthetic fibers, water-absorbing cotton, and a repellent material are layered and integrated, but the former uses cotton as the water-absorbing material. The latter has poor dehydration and drying properties because it uses a waterproof material, and the latter has poor breathability because it uses a waterproof material, and has a complicated structure, so it has poor drying properties.

The nonwoven fabric applied to the present invention contains at least 50% by weight of acrylic fibers with a water absorption rate of 20% or more, and a nonwoven fabric consisting only of this is particularly preferred. Examples of the acrylic fiber include those obtained by spinning a spinning solution in which 2 to 30% by weight of cellulose acetate and 70 to 98 parts by weight of an acrylic polymer are dissolved in an organic solvent into an aqueous solution of the organic solvent, and then stretching and drying the fiber. .

The nonwoven fabric applied to the present invention contains at least 50% by weight, particularly 80% by weight or more, of water-absorbing synthetic fibers with a water absorption rate of 20% or more, but if it is less than this value, the water absorption is insufficient and it cannot be used as the above-mentioned diaper. The purpose of this invention cannot be achieved. For example, if it is less than 50% by weight, rayon fabric may be mixed.

The textile fabric applicable to the present invention may be any fiber with a water absorption rate of 20% or more, but cotton and porous acrylic fiber are particularly preferred. It is also possible to use less than 50% by weight of ordinary acrylic fibers. Among these, porous acrylic fibers similar to those used in nonwoven fabrics are preferred, and those knitted with spun yarn made only of these fibers are particularly preferred. in this case,
The thermal sensation is particularly good when wet. If the water absorption rate and content of the fibers applied to the textile fabric are below the above range, the water retention property will be poor and the effectiveness as a diaper will be drastically reduced.

The water absorption rate referred to here is based on the centrifugal dehydration method. The fibers have been thoroughly conditioned indoors under standard conditions, are opened to form a cotton shape, and then an appropriate amount is taken out and weighed. Wo (g), then immersed in distilled water for 30 seconds, then pulled out, and then dehydrated with a centrifugal force of 1000G for 10 minutes to remove attached water, and then quickly weighed again. W(g) is calculated from the values of Wo and W thus obtained using the following equation.

Water retention rate (%) = W-Wo/Wo x 100 The diaper of the present invention is made by overlapping and sewing a woven fabric on at least one of the non-woven fabric layers,
It is preferable that the nonwoven fabric layer consists of one layer, and it is preferable that the knitted fabric layer is laminated on both the front and back sides. Of course, two or three sheets of nonwoven fabric may be stacked depending on the purpose.

Sewing and forming involves cutting the non-woven fabric and knitted fabric into the same shape and sewing the periphery using hem cloth or the like as necessary, but this is easy if an overlock sewing machine is used. Alternatively, the knitted fabric can be weft-knitted into a tubular or bag-like shape, and a non-woven fabric can be inserted and sewn into the fabric.

The diaper of the present invention has various features, one of which is good breathability when wet, and this is mainly due to the use of a highly breathable nonwoven fabric layer in the inner layer, and the fact that the nonwoven fabric layer has good breathability when wet. Since water-absorbing synthetic fibers are used, there is no water swelling phenomenon as seen in conventional cotton fibers, and there is no decrease in pore volume caused by this phenomenon. In order to increase water retention, which is the most important function for diapers, not only conventional bleached cotton fabrics but also cotton knit fabrics, the amount of raw yarn used increases. However, unlike the product of the present invention, it basically has the disadvantage of being a relatively large amount of diapers, resulting in excessive weight, and diapers that should be soft as infant products tend to have a rough and hard texture. In diapers using non-woven fabric, the non-woven fabric itself, which is the core part, does not go through the process of spinning and twisting, so each fiber in the structure is used extremely effectively and has a large pore volume, resulting in a small It has an extremely high volume of fibers, and as a result, water expelled by infants can be sufficiently and reliably stored between the fibers, while also maintaining the necessary air permeability. Taking the relationship between excretion action and water retention further into consideration, the water-absorbing synthetic fibers constituting the nonwoven fabric layer can store at least 20% of the water content of the fibers in their own internal capillary structure. Therefore, the relatively small amount of urine excreted by infants, i.e. during the first half of the diaper changing cycle, is mainly stored in the internal capillaries of the fibers rather than in the spaces between the fibers, which not only maintains air permeability, but also maintains breathability. In terms of texture, it is possible to maintain a refreshing feel with less stickiness. As an example, for 6 pieces or
Taking the example of infants under 12 months old, their urine output will vary from 30 to 50c.c per diaper change on average, depending on their developmental status and weight. It is said that . Assuming that the total weight of one diaper according to the present invention is 60 g, and only the inner nonwoven fabric portion accounts for 50 g, the porous acrylic fiber can hold water equivalent to 20 to 50% of its fiber weight. , in short, 12 to 15 c.c. of water is stored in the intrafiber capillary structure rather than in the fiber/interfiber space, and 30 to 50 c.c. of water is eventually excreted.
Of the cc, 12 to 15 c.c. is retained by the nonwoven fabric alone, contributing to maintaining breathability.

Due to the purpose of use, diapers for infants and toddlers are products that are washed and used many times, regardless of rain or shine, day or night. It must be completely dried as soon as possible before it can be reused. Now, when drying textile products, the fibers are first dehydrated after rinsing, but with the recent spread of household electric washing machines, in general households using such diapers, Usually, a centrifugal dehydrator is used to remove water, but when dehydrating using a centrifugal dehydrator, there is a fundamental problem with the dehydration properties of porous acrylic fiber products and pure cotton products. The centrifugal force of the centrifugal dehydrator, which is widely used for general household use, is 300 to 500G.
When dewatering is carried out for about 5 minutes in a vacuum cleaner, cotton products retain residual moisture of 70% of their dry weight, while porous acrylic fiber products retain only about 30% of their dry weight. Dehydration is completed by leaving only the (In the case of porous acrylic fibers with a water retention rate of 25%) The 40% moisture difference seen here has a considerable effect on the subsequent drying, resulting in a difference in the time it takes to complete drying. In this example, porous acrylic fiber products are about 100% lighter than cotton products when dried using a method such as hanging under the same conditions.
Drying is completed in about 60% of the time. This is an extremely advantageous characteristic for diapers that must be washed, dehydrated, dried, and reused in large numbers every day.
