Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a facsimile equipment capable of transmitting only a required part independently of the form at of an original by using a handy scanner for the read system of the original. CONSTITUTION:The handy scanner 1 whose subscanning is executed manually is used for the read system in a facsimile equipment where the read system reading optically the transmitted original and a recording system applying hard copy based on a reception signal are provided. That is, picture information of the original 2 read optically by the handy scanner 1 is processed by a facsimile main body 4 through a cable 3. Thus, it is possible to transmit directly an original which cannot be separated one by one sheet such as a book. Moreover, only the required part is transmitted and special editing work such as elimination of undersired part is not needed.

Generally speaking, a facsimile machine consists of a reading system that optically reads the contents of a document to be sent and converts it into an electrical signal, a recording system that makes a hard copy to a printer or the like based on the received signal, and a system that processes the data of each of the reading system and recording system. It consisted of a data processing system that expanded and compressed the data, and a controller system that controlled the overall operation, and were usually integrated.

Conventional facsimiles often have fixed reading systems, and as a result, the documents that can be sent are often limited to sheets. Therefore, for items such as books that cannot be separated one by one, it is necessary to create a sheet-like manuscript using a copying machine and input the manuscript into a facsimile machine, which is labor-intensive and resource-consuming. This required time-wasting work.

There are also facsimile machines in the world that can send items such as books, although the number is small.

However, since such a device must drive a reading system, it is large in size and cannot be overlooked in modern offices where space saving is progressing.

Also, when you want to send only a part of a book, unnecessary parts are captured, so there are many cases where you end up making one copy, editing the manuscript, and then inputting it into the facsimile.

The present invention is intended to solve these problems with conventional facsimile machines. The purpose of the present invention is to include a handy scanner in the document reading system so that only the necessary parts can be scanned without being affected by the document format. It provides a facsimile machine that can send faxes.

The facsimile of the present invention has a reading system that optically reads a transmitted document and a recording system that makes a hard copy based on a received signal, and uses a handy scanner that manually performs sub-scanning in the reading system. It is characterized by what happened.

As described above, according to the present invention, originals that can be sent are often limited to sheets because the original reading system is fixed in the past, but documents such as books can be transmitted one by one. Even originals that cannot be separated can now be sent directly. Therefore, it is possible to eliminate waste that occurs when transmitting manuscripts such as books. In other words, it is no longer necessary to create a sheet-like original using a copying machine and input the original into a facsimile machine.

Furthermore, since handheld scanners can be operated freely, they can even send images that would be impossible to send using conventional facsimiles, such as documents or pictures posted on walls, or content written on blackboards. , it became possible to send information directly, making it possible to transmit information more quickly and reliably.
