Abstract

PURPOSE:To properly detect that cable residue wound round a bobbin has become small by mounting a transparent window plate to a wind opening in a hood put on a bobbin and pouring irradiation light by inclining aslant from vertical to this window plate. CONSTITUTION:Irradiation light 4 is poured aslant from vertical at an angle of theta from the light source of a photo sensor provided at the side window opening 12 of the hood 11 into a hood 11 through a transparent plate 15 in the window opening 12. This irradiation light 4 hits on some part of surface processing means 3 of a bobbin 3 which is wound with cable 2 inside this hood 11 and its reflected light is received with a photo receiver of this photo sensor 13. Next, when the residual quantity of the cable 2 wound round the bobbin 10 becomes small, the reflection amount from the surface processing means 3, which is applied on the bobbin drum 1 exposed from under the cable 2, increases (or decreases) and by the significant difference of this reflection amount, it detects that residual quantity of the cable 2 has become small. Further, the poured light can be reached to the surface of the bobbin 10 by pouring the irradiation light 4 at an angle of theta like this.

At this time, the wire is drawn out from the supply bobbin and wound continuously around the iron core. Alternatively, the wire twisting machine or twisting machine draws out the wires from a supply bobbin around which the wires are wound, and then twists the wires together, and winds the twisted wires onto a take-up bobbin.

In such a case, when the wire wound around the supply bobbin runs out, it is replaced with the next bobbin to replenish the supply of wire. The end of the seven electric wires is rolled up, causing a loss of time to replenish the electric wires, and the connection with the next electric wire is not possible, resulting in trouble, significantly reducing work efficiency, or resulting in defective products.

In other words, when a bobbin with wires wound thereon is covered with a hood and the wires are pulled out for use, the bobbin has a hood attached to the winding drum at a predetermined height and a part of the circumference of the winding drum or a hood around the winding drum. In order to increase the difference in surface reflectance between the electric wire and the bobbin winding body, tape, foil, etc. are pasted or coated with paint, etc., and a window hole is placed in a designated place in the hood. Using the equipment provided, irradiation light is irradiated through the window hole of the hood to the above-mentioned pasting tape, foil, etc. or applied paint part of the bobbin winding drum, and the reflected light is reflected from the surface of the wire and the bobbin winding drum. This is a method of determining the remaining amount of wire wound on the bobbin based on the significant difference in the ratio.

Therefore, in order to prevent this dirt and dust from entering, the hood can be sealed by pasting a transparent plate over the window hole in the hood.

That is, since the inside of a window (transparent plate) attached to a closed hood is dark, if the irradiated light is irradiated perpendicularly to the window plate due to the mirror effect, the irradiated light will be reflected on the surface of the window and will not reach the reel inside, making it impossible to detect.

(Measures for solving the problem) When the wire is drawn out and used by covering the bobbin, the bobbin has a part of the circumference of the winding drum at a predetermined height with a width around the winding drum, or a part of the circumference of the winding drum. The hood is coated with a surface treatment that increases the difference in surface reflectance between the wire and the bobbin winding body, and the hood is provided with window holes at designated locations. The irradiation light is directed to the surface treatment means part of the winding drum of the bobbin through the hole, and when the reflected light is received, the remaining amount of the wire wound on the bobbin is determined by the significant difference in surface reflectance between the wire and the winding drum of the bobbin. In the method of knowing, a transparent window plate is attached to the window hole provided in the hood, and the irradiated light is incident on the transparent window plate attached to the window hole at an angle from perpendicular to diagonal. This is a characteristic feature.

At the same time, the problem of the irradiated light being reflected on the surface of the window plate can be solved by setting the irradiated light at an angle so that it enters the window diagonally as shown in the figure. Note that by changing this angle (depending on the height of the position of the sensing portion of the bobbin from a certain reference point), it is also possible to adjust the predetermined remaining amount.
