Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit an operator to effectively hear a read completion sound by mounting a sounding body such as a buzzer or the like on a space generated by means of a mainbody case and a partition wall. CONSTITUTION:The sounding body 16 is stored in the space 18 formed by the partition wall 17 and the main body case 11. Light beams radiated from an LED12 irradiates bar codes. The reflected light beams are reflected on a mirror 13 and they pass through a lens 14, whereby they are light-received in a CCD image sensor 15. When the reading of the bar codes is completed, the sound showing that the reading is completed is given from the sounding body 16. The sound is led to the outside through a small hole 19, and it can securely inform the operator of the completion of bar code reading.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] Industrial Field of Application Barcode readers using CCD image sensors have a greater reading depth than pen-type barcode readers, and the difference in reading rate depending on the operator (individuality) is extremely large. It has advantages such as small size, and has been rapidly growing in recent years as barcode marking has become popular. .

The invention relates to a structure in which a sounding body such as a buzzer is installed to notify the completion of reading when a handy scanner reads a barcode, and provides a means for effectively allowing an operator operating the barcode reader to hear the sound of completion of reading. This is what we provide.

In a conventional barcode reader using a CCD image sensor, as shown in Fig. 2, the optical system components such as the CCD image sensor 3 as well as the lens 2, mirror 1, and LED 4 are made of resin for the purpose of blocking external light. It is housed in a case 6 made of molded products and the like. A general structure is that a sounding body 7 such as a buzzer that notifies the operator of the completion of reading is also housed within the case 5.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention If the sounding body 7, such as a buzzer, is housed and attached to the case S as described above, the sounding itself will also be shielded, and this will also meet the requirements for barcode readers in recent years. Trends such as lower power consumption or the use of a single 6V power source have been reflected as constraints on the ability to obtain sufficient sound, making it difficult for the operator to hear the reading completion sound.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to solve the above problems, the barcode reader of the present invention has a partition wall formed in the main body case that separates the optical system parts such as the lens and the CCD image sensor from the sounding body such as the buzzer. ,
A sounding body such as the buzzer is attached to a space formed by the main body case and the partition wall.

By installing the sounding body in a space isolated from the optical system components as in the present invention, even if a small hole is provided to guide the sound from one sounding body to the outside, dust and dirt from the outside will adhere to the optical system components. The pronunciation can be effectively transmitted to the outside without any influence.

In FIG. 1, 11 is a main body case, and inside this main body case 11 are an I, an ED 12, a mirror 13° lens 1
4. Optical system components such as a CCD image sensor 15 are housed. 16 is a sounding body such as a buzzer. Reference numeral 17 denotes a partition wall that partitions the optical system components and the sounding body 16, and is formed inside the main body case 11, and this partition wall 17 and the main body case 11
A sounding body 16 is housed in a space 18 formed by the above. A small hole 19 is formed in a part of the main body case 11, and is formed to guide the sound emitted from the sounding body 16 to the outside.

In the above configuration, the light emitted from the LED 12 illuminates the barcode, and the reflected light is reflected by the mirror 13,
Further, through the lens 14, the CCD image sensor 15
The light is received at When the reading of the barcode is completed, a sound indicating the completion of reading is emitted from one sounding element 16. This sound is led to the outside through the small hole 19, and can reliably notify the operator that the bar code has been read.
