Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a connector with a core which is inexpensive and does not radiate unnecessary electromagnetic waves by providing a ferrite core penetrated by contacts made of an electric conductor on a housing made of an insulator and providing a rear shell made of an electric conductor so as to cover this ferrite core. CONSTITUTION:A ferrite core 3 is provided at the position where contacts of a housing 1 penetrate and a rear shell 5 made of an electric conductor is provided so as to cover the ferrite core 3 in a connector constituted of the contacts 2 made of an electric conductor and the housing 1 made of an insulator. The contacts 2 made of an electric conductor penetrate the ferrite core 3, and the connector is shielded from the high-frequency electric field of the circuits on a printed circuit board 7 by the rear shell 5 made of an electric conductor. The radiation of unnecessary electromagnetic waves can be prevented by the use of a general-purpose cable, a cable can be jointly used among the equipment of the same type, and the cost can be reduced.

FIG. 7 is a perspective view showing another example of conventional measures for preventing the radiation of unnecessary electromagnetic waves, in which 11 is the conventional connector shown in FIG. 4, 10 is a ferrite core provided on the printed circuit board 7; The lead wires connected to each of the contacts 2 pass through the ferrite core IO and then are connected to the printed circuit. This ferrite core
O is equivalent to the presence of a filter circuit, and unnecessary radiation of high frequency electromagnetic waves can be prevented.

In order to prevent this, a method using a special cable in which the cable 8 passes through the ferrite core 9 as shown in Fig. 6 is used, but the cable is special and has to be produced in small quantities compared to general use, making it expensive. Another problem is that when a general cable is connected to a Ja equipment that does not have the above-mentioned special cable, unnecessary electromagnetic waves are emitted.

Further, in the method of providing the ferrite core 10 near the connector 11 shown in FIG. 7, the development period of the printed circuit board 7 becomes long, and the area of the printed circuit board 70 increases because of the area occupied by the ferrite core IO. Furthermore, when the ferrite core 10 is provided on the printed circuit board 7, the effect of the ferrite core 10 will not be realized unless the circuit including the ferrite core 10 and the connector is shielded from the high frequency electric field that is unnecessary radiation of the circuit on the printed circuit board 7. Since there is no electric field shielding plate, it is necessary to provide an electric field shielding plate or to separate it from the electric field far away, which poses a problem in that the cost of the printed circuit board 7 increases.

[Function] In the core-equipped connector of the present invention, since the contact made of a good electrical conductor passes through the ferrite core, it is equivalent to inserting a filter circuit as shown in FIG. Since the rear shell shields the ferrite core from the high frequency electric field of the circuit on the printed circuit board, the effect of the ferrite core can be achieved even if the mounting density of the printed circuit board is increased.

In addition, a ferrite core is installed on a conventional printed circuit board,
Compared to the method of preventing the radiation of unnecessary electromagnetic waves by passing the lead wire between the contact and the circuit through the ferrite core, it is possible to prevent the radiation of unnecessary electromagnetic waves by simply replacing the conventional connector with the connector with the core of this invention. This has excellent effects such as eliminating the need to extend development time due to revisions to the printed circuit board, and reducing cost by saving the area for installing the ferrite core and shielding plate on the printed circuit board. .
