Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep the limit value of a switching transistor constant by detecting currents flowing through the switching transistor by a detecting resistor and turning the transistor OFF when the detecting voltage is higher than a specified value. CONSTITUTION:Currents 12 flowing through a switching transistor 1 controlling the currents of a transformer primary winding 6 are input to a detecting resistor 4. Currents 13 from an auxiliary winding 7 wound in the same direction to the transformer primary winding 6 are input simultaneously to the detecting resistor 4, and voltage VE is generated. Voltage VE is input to a comparison circuit 3 and the circuit 3 compares the voltage VE with specified reference voltage VZ, and the switching transistor 1 is turned OFF in response to the result of the comparison, thus inhibiting switching-transistor currents 11.

Limit of current flowing through switching transistor) 11
A conventional power supply circuit for limiting 1E has a configuration as shown in FIG. 2 as an example. That is, the switching transistor 10 current is detected by the detection resistor 4, the resulting voltage Vz is input to the comparator 3, and compared with the reference voltage Vz. If the detected voltage Vg becomes higher than the reference voltage Vz, the switching transistor 1 is switched off. Turn off. Therefore,
The limit value of the switching transistor tm12 was always set to a constant value. Therefore, the input voltage V
In a power supply where IN fluctuates, a switching transistor is used to supply sufficient rated output at low input voltage.
When the peak of Kllt +ti is set, the VCE of the switching transistor becomes high when the input voltage is high, which has the disadvantage of exceeding the safe operating area of the switching transistor.

As shown in the figure, a current 12. is manually applied to the detection resistor 4, and at the same time the detection resistor 4
Inputs the current 13 from the auxiliary winding Is7 wound in one direction to the transformer primary winding 6 and generates the voltage VE.The comparator circuit 3 inputs the voltage Vr, and sets it to a predetermined reference voltage V.
When the detected voltage VE is higher than the reference magnetic pressure Vz, the output signal 11 is sent to the amplification transistor 2 and the switching transistor 1 is set to 0FFI, thereby suppressing the switching transistor leakage 11.

When the input voltage VIN fluctuates, the electric m circuit configured as described above becomes auxiliary! - Since the voltage Va is also varied, the current 13 flowing through the resistor 5 is varied, causing the detected voltage ■ to vary. Therefore, when the input magnetic pressure VIN increases, the auxiliary winding voltage ■ also increases, and as a result, the current 13 increases.
