Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a coating agent such as printing ink for indicators which varies in color phase under normal steam sterilizing conditions with excellent printability, by employing an azolake pigment and an aluminum compound as general coat composition containing a vehicle or the like. CONSTITUTION:An azolake pigment and an aluminum compound are employed as general cover composition containing a vehicle, a solvent and the like to allow the function of an indicator. The azolake pigment herein used is a substituent capable of compounding with metal, for example, a carboxyl group of an azocompound having an azo group, which is made insoluble as metal salt of barium or the like. The aluminum compound includes aluminum oxide. The printing ink for indicators thus obtained is selectable as desired with respect to the vehicle and so excellent in printability. In addition, the temperature and time in a retorting unavoidably causing a change in color phase can be selected freely by varying the amount and ratio of the azolake pigment and aluminum compound as additives.
