を目的とする。[Detailed description of the invention] The present invention relates to a tape cassette, and when the tape cassette is installed in a recording/reproducing machine equipped with a light emitting part and a light receiving part, a leader of the magnetic tape wound on the reel of the tape cassette can be used. In a tape cassette in which an optical path is configured from a light emitting part to a light receiving part through the tape part so that the tape part can be detected, at least a part near the light receiving part of the part near this optical path is colored, for example, black, By coloring most of the other parts other than black, it is possible to make the tape cassette highly decorative, for example, rich in colorful colors.Furthermore, even if it is colored in such a colorful color, it is possible to detect the edge of the tape. To provide a tape cassette free from defects such as deterioration of function.

が行なえるようになつている。 For example, a recording and reproducing device such as a video tape recorder is equipped with a light detection mechanism consisting of a light emitting section and a light receiving section. When the magnetic tape reaches the end of the tape, the light from the light emitting part of the recording/reproducing device that was hitting the magnetic tape will now hit the part of the tape that is not coated with the magnetic layer.
The light from the light emitting section passes through the tape and reaches the light receiving section, and the end of the tape can be detected by detecting this light.

This means that if the tape cassette case is not colored black, it can be colored white (white is not a color, but it totally reflects light), red, orange, yellow, green, blue, etc. For example, if the tape is colored red or the like, the reflectance of light is high, and the reflection of light generated within the tape cassette may cause a malfunction in detecting the end of the tape. In other words, the light that enters the light-receiving section of the photodetection mechanism is not only the light that passes through the tape from the light-emitting section and hits the tape, but even the light that comes out of the light-emitting section does not pass through the tape and hits the ceiling of the tape cassette or the light that hits the tape. It may be light that hits the side wall of the cassette case and is reflected, or that external light enters through a transparent window provided in the ceiling of the cassette, and is near an opening in the optical path leading to the reel, ceiling, or light receiving section. There is light that is diffusely reflected in a complicated manner, and there is also light that is reflected by external light that hits the outside wall of the cassette case, and this light that is not intended for the purpose hits the light receiving section, causing the light detection mechanism that detects the tape end to malfunction. That's what happens.

る。 First, the tape cassette case is made of a material with low light transmittance, such as ABS resin or high-impact styrene resin, and is constructed in the same shape as a conventional cassette case. When the tape cassette case is attached to a recording/playback device, light from the light emitting section of the recording/playback device travels along a predetermined running path between the supply reel and the take-up reel at the leader tape section of the magnetic tape. The tape cassette near the optical path from the light emitting part to the light receiving part, especially near the light receiving part, is designed so that the tape end detection mechanism operates only when the transmitted light hits the light receiving part of the recording/reproducing device. Some parts are colored, for example, black, and other parts are colored, for example, red. In addition, the parts where light other than the light emitting part of the tape end detection mechanism hits the tape cassette from the outside and causes the tape end detection mechanism to malfunction are also colored black to prevent the negative effects of reflection. It is.

A first tape cassette, a second tape cassette in which only the outer surface of the lower flange of the reel is black and the rest is red;
As shown in Fig. 1, there is a lock plate 1 for locking the front cover of the tape cassette, the outer surface of the lower flanges of the reels 2 and 3, and the area near the light receiving section of the recording and reproducing apparatus when the tape cassette is installed in the recording and reproducing apparatus. Chambers 4, 5, 6 surrounded by ribs in corresponding positions
(Fig. 1 mainly shows the lower half of the tape cassette case, and the same applies to the upper half side) and when the upper and lower halves of the tape cassette case are combined, the ribs are close to each other. The third tape cassette, the second tape cassette, has the rib end face of the part that will not be joined (the part indicated by the mesh marks in the lower middle half of Figure 1) colored black, and the remaining part colored red.
As shown in the figure, the lock plate 1 for locking the front cover of the tape cassette, the outer surface of the lower flanges of the reels 2 and 3, and the vicinity of the light receiving section of the recording and reproducing device when the tape cassette is installed in the recording and reproducing device. The figure shows only the lower half of the tape cassette case (the same applies to the upper half), and the part where the ribs do not join when the upper and lower halves of the tape cassette case are combined. The rib end face (the part colored black so far is the same as that of the third tape cassette), the rib inner surface of the part marked with a mesh in the rib part in Figure 2 (the same goes for the upper half), and the tape in Figure 2. The shaded part of the cassette case (the upper half is also the same) is colored black, and the remaining part is colored red.In addition to the black colored part of the fourth tape cassette of the above type, there are also When the front lid of the tape cassette is closed, it is covered by the side surface of the front lid, but when the front lid is opened, the part that is exposed (the outer surface of the side wall of the rib portion shown by the cross-hatched mark in Figure 3) is covered by the side surface of the front lid. A fifth tape cassette is of a type in which the remaining part is colored black and the remaining part is colored red, and a sixth tape cassette is of a type in which the outer surface of the lower flange of the reel is white in the black part of the fifth tape cassette of the above type. Six types of tape cassettes were prepared, and the relationship between the illuminance of each tape cassette and the output voltage from the light receiving section was measured, and the results were as shown in FIG. In Figures 2 and 3, the arrows shown by dashed lines indicate that when a tape cassette is installed in a recording/playback device, the light emitted from the light emitting section of the recording/playback device passes through the tape cassette and reaches the light receiving section of the recording/playback device. It shows the optical path to reach, and is shown in Fig. 4.
T 1 , T 2 , ..., T 6 are the first tape cassette and the second tape cassette.

る。 According to these results, in the first tape cassette type, the output voltage obtained at the light receiving section is large even with a small value of illuminance, and for example, the operating reference voltage for the tape end detection mechanism was set to 3.16V. In some cases, the tape end detection mechanism is likely to malfunction, whereas in the case of a fourth tape cassette or fifth tape cassette type, for example, it is difficult for external light etc. to reach the light receiving section of the recording/reproducing device.
Even if the operating reference voltage for the tape end detection mechanism is set to 3.16V, the output voltage is less than 3.16V.
The tape end detection mechanism operates only when the light emitted from the light emitting section of the recording/playback device passes through the leader tape section and reaches the light receiving section, and the tape end detection mechanism is highly unlikely to malfunction. Become.

Furthermore, if the outer surface of the lower flange of the reel is colored with a low light reflectance color, for example black, accidents such as malfunction of the tape end detection mechanism of the recording/reproducing device can be effectively prevented. If the outer surface of the tape cassette case is colored in a desired color, it will become more colorful, rich in color, and highly decorative.

When a tape cassette is installed in a recording or playback device, the light-receiving section of the device detects the light from the light-emitting section of the device that has passed through the tape section that does not have a recording medium layer that hardly transmits light from the tape cassette. In the tape cassette in which the optical path section of the light is configured so as to detect the end of the tape, a portion near the light receiving section in the vicinity of the optical path section is colored in a color with low light reflectance, and the tape cassette case is Since most of the remaining part of the colored part is colored in a color different from the colored part, the tape cassette can be made colorfully and highly decorative, and even though it is highly decorative, the edges of the tape are It has the advantage of not having any drawbacks such as malfunctions in the detection function.
