Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit correction of various deformations of an information recording carrier by providing a magnetic material layer which is attracted to a carrier imposing surface by the magnetic field generated from an information recording and reproducing device side to the above-mentioned carrier. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic material layer 5 is a metallic sheet consisting of a magnetic material playing the role of both as a protective member to protect an optical recording medium layer 3 against external environment, more particularly, dust flaw, external force, humidity, etc., and as a magnetic attracting member to magnetically attract the carrier to the recording and reproducing device and is preferably a soft ferromagnetic material. Said layer may be formed by sticking, for example, 'Permalloy(R)' foil having 0.1mm thickness by an adhesive agent. The use of the adhesive agent formulated to play the role of a heat insulating layer 4 is equally satisfactory in this case. The magnetic metallic sheet 5 fixed to a base plate 1 is magnetically fixed by a magnetic attracting means to the imposing base of the recording carrier provided in the recording and reproducing device. The deformations such as warpage and twist of the carrier which are undesirable for recording and reproduction are thereby easily corrected.

Conventional information recording carriers KK include optical cards, optical disks, thin optical recording carriers enclosed in card-like cases, and the like. In particular, optical cards and optical record carriers enclosed in card-like cases (
(hereinafter referred to as a card disk), the purpose of which is to be carried and used by an individual user, so the card is often deformed by external force when carried, especially when carried in a Sai7. It is difficult to ensure flatness when the card disk is manufactured. Therefore, when an optical information recording and reproducing device (hereinafter referred to as the device) is used to record and reproduce information, there are problems such as information being missing or being unable to be reproduced, and various means for correcting the warpage of the carrier by the device have been devised. There is.

However, in the past, since correction means on the carrier side was not taken into consideration, it was not possible to sufficiently correct the various warping directions of the carrier on the device side alone, and it was therefore difficult to record and reproduce information stably. Furthermore, since conventional recording carriers used plastics such as polycarbonate, they had the disadvantage that the carrier changed depending on humidity due to the hygroscopicity of the plastic.

Reference numeral 3 denotes an optical recording medium layer, which is fixed to the recording area 1a by coating or pouring. Reference numeral 4 denotes a heat insulating layer for preventing light energy (particularly photothermal energy) from flowing out into the medium layer 3 and the magnetic layer 5 (particularly in the case of a magnetic metal plate). The above-mentioned magnetic layer 5 is a magnetic material that serves both as a protective member for protecting the medium layer 3 from the external environment, especially dust and scratches, external force, humidity, etc., and as a magnetic adsorption member for magnetically adhering the carrier to the recording/reproducing device. This is a magnetic layer on a metal plate.

In the above configuration, a light beam (not shown) passes through the protective layer 2 and the processed substrate 1, forms a light spot on the surface of the medium layer 3, and performs optical recording by its thermal energy or photochemical action.

On the other hand, the magnetic metal plate 5 fixed to the base 1 is magnetically fixed to magnetic adsorption means of a recording carrier mounting table provided in a recording/reproducing apparatus (not shown). At this time, the substrate 1, which is integrally formed with the magnetic metal plate 5, is fixed so as to have the same shape as the mounting surface of the recording carrier mounting table. Therefore, in a record carrier (hereinafter referred to as a carrier) provided with a magnetic metal plate 5 as shown in FIG. 1, deformations that are undesirable for recording and reproduction, such as warping and twisting of the carrier, can be easily corrected. It should be noted that it is better to make the thickness of the carrier as thin as possible within a range where the influence of dust and scratches is small, which will have an effect on correction of deformation.

The purpose of the heat insulating layer 4 is to prevent heat leakage to the magnetic metal plate 5 when recording is performed using the thermal energy of a light beam, and to use photothermal energy efficiently. It may also be a chemical change prevention layer for preventing chemical action between the magnetic metal plate 3 and the magnetic metal plate 5.

The carrier mounting table 10m is made of a non-magnetic material (for example, aluminum or plastic), and is integrally fixed to the motor shirt 10b of the drive motor 10 for rotating the carrier. Further, the drive motor 10 is fixed to a fixed member 3o of the recording/reproducing apparatus.

In the above configuration, when the carrier 1t is placed on the mounting table 10m and a current is passed through the magnetic field generating coil 20& from an external power source, the coil becomes an electromagnet and a magnetic field is generated. The magnetic metal plate 5 is magnetically attracted to the electromagnetic yoke by this magnetic field, but since there is a mounting table 10 in the middle, the magnetic metal plate 5 is pressed so as to follow the shape of the mounting surface of the mounting 10a. Therefore, it is formed to have the same shape as the mounting surface, thereby correcting the deformation of the carrier.
