Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of a structure from cccurring and make it lightweight by connecting a flare section to multiple projections protruded from the inside of the side wall region of a frame. CONSTITUTION:A cap-shaped shadow mask 4 has a draw-molded flare section 5 drooping along the center axis 6a of a main face section 6 on the outer periphery of the rectangular main face section 6 with many through holes. A rectangular and circular mask frame 13 has a side wall region 14 enveloping the flare section 5, a flange region 15 extended to the center axis 6a side from the lower end edge of this region 14 and facing the main face section 6, and a flange region 16 extended to the direction opposite to the region 15 from the upper end edge of the region 14. The flare section 5 is spot-welded to multiple projections 17 protruded to the flare section 5 side from the inside of the upper section of the region 14. 従来の技術 カラー受像管の大型化に伴う重量の増大を抑えるために

ドウマスク構体の軸方向長も短小化する必要が生じ、そ
のために、帽状のシャドウマスクを環状マスクフレーム
の内側にとりつけることが行われている。かかるシャド
ウマスク構体は特公昭56−6627号公報等により知
られているが、第3図図示のようにマスクフレーム1の
側壁領域2の内面に複数の突起3を有せしめ、帽状シャ
ドウマスク4のフレヤー部5を突起3にスポット溶接す
ると、組立精度を高めることができる。

らず、シャドウマスク4の主面部6とフレヤー部5との
境界領域11がフレーム側壁領域の上端縁2aから寸度
δ4だけ没入し、シャドウマスク4をマスクフレーム1
内に挿入する作業に支障をきたして、組立精度を低下さ
せる。これを第4図により説明すると、前記挿入のため
に治具12でシャドウマスク4の主面部6を押圧すると
き、もしも、前述のようにシャドウマスク4の境界領域
11がフレーム側壁領域の上端縁2aから没入する設計
であると、側壁領域上端縁2aと治具12との間に少な
からぬギャップδ5を設けておく必要が生しる。そうす
ると、境界領域11付近での押圧が不十分となり、シャ
ドウマスク4に破線で示すような変形を生じやすくなる

ら第1のフランジ領域15とは相反する方向へ延び出た
第2のフランジ領域16とを有している。そして、側壁
領域14の上部の内面からフレヤー部5側へ突出した複
数の突起17に、フレヤー部5がスポット溶接により接
合されている。

防止でき、しかも、断面S字状となったマスクフレーム
の剛性は従来品に比して格段に高いものとなるので、そ
の分、フレームの板厚を減少させることもできる。また
、マスク通過後の電子ビームがマスクフレームの先端縁
でひっかからないように寸度管理する必要がなくなるな
ど、本発明はとくにマスクフレーム各辺のスパンが長大
な大型カラー受像管用シャドウマスク構体に適用してす
ぐれた効果を奏する。
