Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep the pleasant cabin environment by detecting it that a vehicle enters a tunnel and automatically switching a radio receiver into other audio equipment. CONSTITUTION:A control section 7 is provided with a lighting switch signal input 10 and a broadcast station detection signal input 8 representing whether or not a radio wave from a broadcast station is received and always monitors the two signals. Then the control section 7 checks the two signals to check whether or not the vehicle enters the tunnel, that is, to check whether or not the broadcast station detection signal is absent. If reception is disabled while entering the tunnel during the listening to a radio receiver, a control signal 9 is outputted and the audio equipment is switched into a cassette tape deck halt tentatively.

Conventionally, in-vehicle receivers cannot receive broadcast waves if the vehicle enters a tunnel while the vehicle is traveling, and the receiver hears noise or continues to be silent while the vehicle is traveling through the tunnel.

As mentioned above, conventional in-vehicle receivers have the disadvantage that they do not take measures to deal with places such as tunnels where broadcast waves do not reach at all, and they either continue to emit noise or remain silent.

is input. The audio signal amplified by the amplifier section 5 is turned into sound by the speaker 6. Further, in this example, a cassette tape player, a CD (compact disc), etc. are connected as audio equipment other than the radio. For example, an audio signal output from a cassette tape unit 3 passes through a changeover switch unit 4, is amplified by an amplifier 5, and is sounded by a speaker 6. The control section 7 outputs a control signal 9 to control the changeover switch section 4. In other words, normally when you want to play the radio, turn the switch to the radio (normal) position, and when you want to play a cassette tape, turn the switch to the cassette tape side.

The control unit 7 further includes a lighting switch signal 10 and a broadcast station detection signal 8 indicating whether or not a broadcast station is being received, and constantly monitors these two signals. By checking these two signals, the control unit 7 checks whether the car has entered the tunnel, that is, whether the broadcast station detection signal has become null.

If the user enters a tunnel or the like while listening to the radio and becomes unable to receive the radio, a control signal 9 is output and the audio is switched to a cassette tape. Of course, at this time it is assumed that the cassette tape is loaded and is in a paused state. Next, the control unit 7 checks the states of the broadcasting station detection signal 8 and the lighting switch signal 10, and when the broadcasting station detection signal changes from absent to present, it outputs a control signal 9 and does not return the audio to the radio. Then, pause the cassette tape. Of course, in short tunnels where broadcast waves are uninterrupted, or in places where broadcasting equipment is located inside the tunnel, the broadcast station detection signal is "present", so this operation is not performed, nor is it necessary.

It is most desirable to use a microcomputer for the control section 7. This is because recent car receivers have advanced electronic tuning and are already using microcomputers for tuning. Therefore, even if the present invention is implemented, there is almost no increase in cost.

FIGS. 2(A) and 2(B) show examples of flowcharts when a microcomputer is used for the control unit 7. During normal radio reception, always detect the broadcast station detection signal (SD double signal 1 and lighting switch signal 10) and check whether the SD double signal disappears or the lighting switch is turned on.SD double signal disappears when entering a tunnel. The lighting switch may change from OFF to ON not only when the car enters a tunnel, but also when the car moves far away from the broadcast station's service area.In addition, the lighting switch may change from OFF to ON not only when entering a tunnel, but also when it becomes night. Therefore, in the present invention, it is determined that the vehicle has entered a tunnel only when both actions occur simultaneously within a certain fixed period of time.

In this embodiment, a cassette tape player is connected as an audio device other than a radio, but it may be other types of audio equipment, or a plurality of audio equipment may be connected. At this time, you will have to decide on the priority and ring it.

As explained below, the present invention not only maintains a comfortable interior environment by detecting that the car has entered a tunnel and automatically switches from the radio to other audio equipment, but also improves the driver's comfort. This eliminates the hassle of having to operate the device yourself, and eliminates the discomfort of hearing noise or being left in silence, which is very effective for safe driving.
