Traditionally, mullions for curtain walls, especially split mullions, have steel plate bending reinforcing materials inserted in the longitudinal direction inside the mullions, as shown in Figure 1, and are fixed to the mullions with screws to reinforce the strength of the mullions. was.

The reinforced mullions were connected to each other by fitting sleeves into the interior of the reinforced mullions at their upper and lower ends, as shown in FIG. 2A. In this case, the strength of each mullion as a single mullion was improved by the reinforcing material, but the connecting parts of each mullion had a weak point in terms of strength. In addition, the screws for fixing the mullions and the reinforcing material are exposed to the outside, and the number of screws to be fastened is large, making the installation process complicated.

The conventional example will be explained below with reference to the drawings.
In the figure, a mullion 5 is attached to a building using bolts and nuts 6 via fasteners 3 and mullion mounting brackets 4 to anchors 2 provided on a building frame 1. However, as shown in FIG. 1B and FIG. 2A, the position is such that the lower end 5a of the mullion and the upper end 5b of the mullion are connected by fitting the sleeve 9 into each other, and the mullion and the sleeve are connected to each other. Although they are connected together with bolts 6, the reinforcing material 8 fitted in the longitudinal direction inside the mullion 5 is weak because there is no reinforcing material 8 inside the sleeve 9. Ta. Further, in order to connect the mullion 5 and the reinforcing member 8, screws 10 are screwed at appropriate intervals, so that the screw heads are covered externally, spoiling the aesthetic appearance.

The present application improves the above-mentioned drawbacks, and details thereof will be explained with reference to FIGS. 2B and 3. First, an outline will be explained with reference to FIG. At the connecting portion, a fastener 3, a bracket 4, a mullion 5, a sleeve 9, and a reinforcing member 8 are stacked in this order from the outside and are fixedly attached with bolts and nuts 6. Third
The embodiment shown in the figure is a case in which the mullion 5 is divided into two in cross section, and the mullions 5 are made of extruded aluminum alloy material, and the mullions 5 are closely fitted to each other via a packing 11 at the center line of the mullions, and the outer shape of the mullions 5 is It has a roughly rectangular shape. In the connecting portion of the mullions 5, sleeves 9 are fitted inside the ends of the adjacent mullions 5, and a reinforcing member 8 is inserted into the inner circumference of the sleeve 9 in the longitudinal direction so as to abut against the sleeve 9. ing. The gaps between the mullions 5 and the reinforcing members 8 other than the connecting portions are filled with piece materials 12 at appropriate pitches as shown in FIG. 2(b). In the embodiment, a shape obtained by cutting a sleeve 9 made of an aluminum alloy shape is used as a piece material 12 for filling the gap. The mounting and fixing to the building frame is carried out using a mullion mounting bracket 4 which is connected and fixed to the frame via fasteners etc. using a conventional method.
However, since the reinforcing member 8, the sleeve 9, and the mullion 5 are firmly screwed together with the bolt 6, the strength of the joint between the mullions is extremely high. Note that the middle part of each mullion through which the reinforcing material 8 passes is pre-screwed with screws 1.
If the screws are screwed at position 0 as shown in FIG. 3, the screw heads will be hidden inside the mullion 5 and will not spoil the aesthetic appearance. Note that 13 is glass, and the gap between the abutting end surfaces of the mullions 5 is filled with a polysaliphide sealing material 14 by a conventional method. Furthermore, if the sleeve 9 and the mullion 5 that are fitted into the mullion 5 and the piece material 12 and the mullion 5 are provided with an engaging portion 15 that restrains their positions, the workability and connection effect can be enhanced. .
