Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title molding which can show fluidity during pressure coating, can be uniformly and easily applied to a substrate, does not sag after application and can give a film of a uniform thickness, by coating the surface of a molding with a solventless organic resin containing a thixotropic agent. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a foamed PS molding is coated with a solution formed by adding 1-15wt.% thixotropic agent such as a fine silicic anhydride powder to a solventless organic resin such as a solventless epoxy resin excellent in chemical resistance and noncorrosive to the foamed PS and dissolving or dispersing this mixture in a solvent with a spray gun or a brush and dried.

Exit> Conventional technology In the case of a drain pan made of expanded polystyrene (styrofoam), it was developed in the 1970s to increase strength and prevent water leakage.
As disclosed in Japanese Patent No. 32356, the inner surface is covered with a thin styrene sheet, and currently fan casings for sirocco fans are molded only from expanded polystyrene without using a styrene sheet. be.

(c) Problems to be solved by the invention When an air conditioner is used in the living room, bedroom, or office of a general household, no particular problem arises, but when used in a kitchen or a machine cutting factory, it Steam of edible fats and oils in the room,
Styrofoam sheets and expanded polystyrene are eroded by the mist, cannibal oil vapor in machine cutting factories, and solvent vapor during parts cleaning, causing problems such as melting and cracking, and especially in the case of drain pans, air Drain water generated in the evaporator during cooling operation of the conditioner contains oil and solvents, which can corrode the evaporator and cause water leaks.

Therefore, in order to solve this problem, attempts were made to form a film on the surface of expanded polystyrene by coating it with epoxy resin, but when coating with epoxy resin, it was difficult to coat only the horizontal flat parts. If there is, the coating thickness can be made uniform and there is no particular problem. However, when coating a vertical surface or a sloped surface, the epoxy resin drips, causing extremely thick parts and thin parts. This causes various problems in actual use (during product integration, transportation, etc.), such as clogging of the drain port and lack of strength due to thin vertical walls.

Coating with such a film eliminates the need for the styrene sheet conventionally used in drain pans, but if a styrene sheet is used to further increase strength and water resistance, the surface of the styrene sheet integrally welded with expanded polystyrene may be used as described above. It may be covered with a film.

(G) Effects of the Invention According to the present invention, since a sixotrope imparting agent is added to a solvent-free organic resin, the resin can be applied to the surface of a foamed polystyrene molded product by applying strong force like a brush or spray. The resin has fluidity and can be applied uniformly and easily, and once it has been applied to the surface of the foamed polystyrene molded product, it has the property of not dripping until the resin dries or hardens. The coating on the inclined surface can be made to have substantially the same thickness as the coating on the bottom surface and to have a uniform thickness.
