In general, in the fields of dressmaking, knitting, handicrafts, etc.
Irons are frequently used to fold the edges of pieces cut, knitted, or fabricated into predetermined shapes during production, to create darts, tucks, pleats, etc., and to fold hems of products such as skirts during finishing. has been done.
However, this type of ironing requires work such as setting the folding width of the edges and the like and temporarily fixing the folded part before ironing. In other words, when folding the edge of a component piece or product, measure the edge with a ruler, etc., fold it back to a predetermined fold width, then temporarily secure this folded part with basting stitches or pins, and then iron it. However, no ironing tools or the like had been developed to make the above process particularly convenient.

The scaled template A for ironing in this example is as follows:
Made of transparent heat-resistant synthetic resin material, main edge 1a
It is formed in the shape of a horizontally long thin plate with a straight line. In addition, each corner portion 2a, 2
b, 2c, and 2d are each formed into an arc shape having a different radius of curvature, and furthermore, a plurality of scales 3a, 3b parallel to the main edge 1a are provided at predetermined intervals on one side. This scale 3a,
3b, one 3a is made of a solid line and the other 3b is a broken line, and the scales 3a and 3b are made of a solid line and the main edge 1a is made of a solid line.
and a scale 3b provided at an adjacent position are alternately engraved and colored at intervals of 5 mm. In the figure, E is a numerical value representing the radius of curvature of each corner, and F is a numerical value representing the length from the main edge 1a to the scale line 3a.

In addition to being heat resistant, the material is preferably a heat insulating material to prevent troubles caused by heating during ironing. In addition, if transparent or semi-transparent synthetic resin is used as the material, the patterns and embroidery on the material fabric can be seen through, for example, when ironing a piece of cloth for the body of clothing. It is convenient for pattern matching, etc.
Opaque synthetic resin may be used, or metal may be used. In addition, when forming from an opaque material, the scales 3a and 3b shall be attached to both surfaces thereof.

When using template A for ironing edge folding of a product such as a skirt, first place template A on the folded surface of fabric B at the folding position determined by eye, as shown in Figure 3, at its main end. The main edge 1a is used to fold back the edge of the fabric B, and the edge of the folded part 4 is separated from the main edge 1a of the template A by a predetermined distance. The width of the folded portion 4 is set to a predetermined dimension so as to match the position scale 3a or 3b. Thereafter, while the template A remains inserted inside the folded part 4, the folded position of the fabric B is temporarily fixed by its main edge 1a, and an iron C is applied from above.

When using template A to iron the edges of seam allowances for pockets, collars, etc., press template A against the back side of fabric D as shown in Figure 4. A corner portion 1a having a radius of curvature that is approximately the same as the curvature of the arc portion is placed at the visually measured folding position of the arc portion, and the edge of the arc portion is folded back using the edge thereof, and then ironed in the same manner as described above. It is the one to apply.

Since the present invention has the above-mentioned configuration, when ironing the edge folding of a material fabric or product, the present invention is applied to the back side of the fabric, the edge is folded back, and the edge of the folded part is ironed. The width of the folded part can be set to a predetermined size by matching the scale at the desired position of the product of the present invention, and the product of the present invention can be folded back at its main edge while being inserted into the folded part. The line can be temporarily fixed and ironed.

Therefore, there is no need to perform the work such as measuring the width of the folded part, basting the folded edge, and temporarily fixing with pins, which were conventionally performed in conjunction with this type of ironing work, prior to ironing. Since this can be easily done at the same time as ironing, the efficiency of this type of work can be significantly improved compared to conventional methods.
