Abstract

PURPOSE:To absorb vibration being transmitted to predetermined portions of a crank-case efficiently by forming a portion or all of the barrier wall, outer board and baseboard of the crank-case, by welding board members laminated in plural layers to the predetermined portions of the body of case. CONSTITUTION:Barrier wall members 2, 3, outer board members 4, 5 and baseboard members 6, 7 formed into boards laminated with plural layers are welded to predetermined portions of a crank-case so as to form barrier walls, outer boards and base boards. Ribs 9 are provided, as required, to respective barrier wall members. Vibration suppressing metals 8 are sandwitched by respective lamination faces of the members 2-7. Since vibration transmitting sections such as barrier walls, outer boards or base boards of the crank-case are formed into at least two-layer structure, vibration occurring in the crank-case can be damped and absorbed at the source.

The problem to be solved by the present invention is to create a multi-layered structure by stacking plate materials in multiple layers and welding them to the crankcase body for any or all of the bulkhead, outer plate, and board of the crankcase of an internal combustion engine. The idea is to make it easier to manufacture and absorb vibrations by using the ribs.

2. Since multiple welded layers of the above-mentioned plate materials are used for the partition walls, outer panels, or substrates that have a relatively large surface area, the vibration damping effect is excellent.

3、低振動によシ板厚を小さく取ることができる。3. Due to low vibration, the plate thickness can be reduced.

The crankcase main body 1 is assembled by overlapping the plate-shaped outer panel members 4° 5 constituting the outer panel and the plate-shaped base plate members 6 and 7 constituting the base plate as shown in FIGS. 2 to 4. These are welded to form the bulkhead, outer panel, and circuit board, respectively.

Each of the partition members 2 and 3 is provided with continuous recesses 10 and 10' each having a semicircular cross section so that the lip 9 is formed in the partition wall in an overlapping state as required. Furthermore, a viscoelastic body or a damping metal 8 is sandwiched between the mating surfaces of the superposed members 2.3, 4, 5, and 6.7.

The present embodiment is constructed as described above, and the partition wall, outer plate, and board are each composed of two-layer plate members, which are stacked to form a two-layer structure and then welded to the crankcase body. Therefore, the bulkhead, outer panel,
Vibration is attenuated by the same two-layer structure of the vibration transmitting parts such as the board, and vibrations generated in the crankcase are absorbed at the source.

In addition, since the multilayer plates are molded separately, the above-mentioned plate-shaped members can have appropriate strength and rigidity by overlapping them and by providing ribs as necessary (Fig. 3 and (See Figure 4) Externally, it can be manufactured using thin plates divided into multiple layers instead of heavy thick plates.
