Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent protrusion of a part of a foaming material from being generated at a connected part between panels constituting members, by covering with a finisher in such a way that a gap is formed between the surrounding of a through hole and the surface of the members after a foaming material is poured into the inside of the member from the through hole, and foaming the foaming liquid. CONSTITUTION:A pouring hole 14 for a foaming liquid is perforated as a through hole on a molding panel 12, and a member surface 12b of the molding panel 12 is covered with finisher 15. A recessed part 15a is formed on a face of this finisher 15 facing to the pouring hole 14 for the foaming liquid, and a gap 16 is formed between the recessed part 15a and the member surface 12b. As the procedure for forming the foam, the foaming liquid is poured in the member 11 from the pouring hole 14 for the foaming liquid and then the member surface 12b of the member 11 is covered with the finisher 15. The foaming liquid is thereby foamed and a part of the foaming liquid flows into the gap 16 between the finisher 15 and the member surface 12b from the pouring hole 14 for the foaming liquid, and hardened therein. Moreover, a part of the foaming material 17 thus formed is tightly adhered and fixed on the finisher 15 and the finisher 15 is thereby supported without play on the member 11.

A large number of members 2 having a closed cross-section structure as shown in FIG. 3 are used in the vehicle body 1. (Refer to Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 48-2631.) Examples of the member 2 include a front pillar 3 and a center pillar 4 as shown in FIG. 2. Furthermore, in order to improve the strength of the member 2, there is one in which the internal space is filled with a foam material 5 such as a relatively hard foam (polyurethane foam) as shown in FIG.

By the way, the above-mentioned foam material 5 is currently currently formed within the member 2 by injecting a polyurethane liquid into the member 2 and foaming it. Moreover, when one foam material 5 is formed in the member 2 by such injection foaming, a part of the foam material 5 is formed in the foam liquid injection hole 9a of the member 2.
It bulges out as shown in Figure 4.

As a result, the foaming liquid is foamed, and a part of the foaming liquid flows out from the foaming liquid injection hole 14 into the gap 16 between the finisher 15 and the member surface 12b and hardens. Moreover, a part of the foamed material 17 formed in this way is removed from the finisher 15.
Since the finisher 15 is tightly fixed to the member 11, the finisher 15 is supported on the member 11 without any play.

(Effects of the Invention) As explained above, the present invention provides a member having a closed cross-sectional structure in which a communicating hole is formed, and a finisher that covers the communicating hole, and foaming is formed inside the member from the communicating hole. After the liquid was injected, the finisher was used to cover the communication hole so that a gap was formed between the periphery of the communication hole and the surface of the member, and the foaming liquid was foamed. Even if some of the foamed material bulges out from the communicating holes of the member, this bulge will be prevented. This can prevent the part from interfering with the attachment of the finisher to the member. Moreover, this bulging portion is closely fixed to the finisher when foaming and hardening, and the finisher is supported by the member without play.
