【考案の詳細な説明】 この考案はシリンダブロツクの剛性を高めるこ
とによつて、共振による騒音の低減を図つたエン
ジンに関する。

従来エンジンの多くはシリンダブロツクの下部
に、クランク軸を支承するジヤーナル軸受けを設
けている関係上、上部に比べて下部の剛性が低
い。このため稼動時筒内圧が軸受けを介してシリ
ンダブロツクの下部に作用すると周波数の低い領
域で共振を起し、騒音の原因となつている。そこ
で従来ではシリンダブロツクの下部に制振板を設
けたり、軸受け部の強度を高めて共振による騒音
の低減を図つているが、何れの方法も低い周波数
領域で余り効果がなかつたり、構造が複雑となつ
て高価となるなどの欠点があつた。

ク1に取付ける固着具6のうち、軸受け取付け孔
1a,5bの両側に位置する2本の固着具6aは
長さが長くなつていて、クランク軸に作用する筒
内圧及び慣性力を担持し、またその両側に位置す
る長さの短い固着具6bはメインキヤツプ5とシ
リンダブロツク1のスカート部1bを強固に固定
して、シリンダブロツク1下部の剛性を高める作
