Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable printing at a normal printing speed to be performed even when a printing paper poor in surface smoothness is used, by providing first and second printing heads independently with ribbon-supplying means, and causing the first and second printing heads to print the same information at the same part of a printing paper.
CONSTITUTION: With a printing operation started, a carrier 5 is moved rightward, a printing head 1 performs thermal transfer printing of information at a position by using a filler ribbon 3, and then a printing head 2 prints the same information at the same position by using an ink ribbon 4. Namely, the head 1 performs thermal transfer printing by using the filler ribbon 3 coated with a filler so as to smoothen the ruggedness of the surface of printing paper, and the head 2 performs thermal transfer printing of the same information as that printed by the head 1 at the part of the paper just smoothened by the head 1, by using the ink ribbon 4. Therefore, the result of the printing is the same as that obtained when printing is conducted twice in one movement of the carrier 5.
